The European School of Mol is the third of the European Schools. It is located in Mol, a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The school was established in 1960 for the benefit of the children of the Central Bureau for Nuclear Measurements (now Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements), Euratom, Eurochemic, and the SCK•CEN (Belgian Nuclear Research Centre) personnel. However, since that date, the school has also welcomed children from many other European or overseas families, who live and work in the area. Every day, buses bring pupils from as far as Antwerp and Eindhoven, although there are boarding facilities in the neighborhood for students during the week.
Jean Monnet
The words of Jean Monnet, which express the essential aims of the European Schools, have been sealed, in parchment, into the foundation stones of all the Schools:
"Educated side by side, untroubled from infancy by divisive prejudices, acquainted with all that is great and good in different cultures, it will be borne in upon them as they mature that they belong together. Without ceasing to look to their own lands with love and pride, they will become in mind Europeans, schooled and ready to complete and consolidate the work of their fathers before them, to bring into being a united and thriving Europe".

The first three years of Secondary School are considered as an "observation cycle". The following subjects are taught: Language 1 (mother tongue), Language 2 (working language), Language 3, Latin (optional), Mathematics, Combined Sciences, Human Sciences, ICT (Informatics), Art, Music, Sport, Religion or Ethics and Complementary Activities.
Years 4 and 5
- Common Core: Language 1, Language 2, Language 3, Religion/Ethics, Sport, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics
- Options: Language 4, Latin, Economics, ICT (Informatics), Art, Music
Years 6 and 7
- Common core: Language 1, Language 2, Philosophy, Mathematics, Combined Sciences, History, Geography, Sport, Religion/Ethics
- Options: Latin, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Language 3, Language 4, Philosophy, History, Geography, Art, Music
- Additional Subjects: Art, Music, Information Sciences, Language 5, Laboratory Studies, Economics.
At the end of the seventh class the secondary school course is validated by the European Baccalaureate examinations.
