Original Characters
When starting the game, the player chooses between four scenarios, one for each combination of male or female main protagonist and Super or Real Robot, as follows:
- Super Robot Pilots
- Sanger Zonvolt - Male, pilot of Grungust Mk.III Unit-2 and Dynamic General Guardian "DyGenGuard". His initial future as "Wodam Ymir" circumcized at the end of Alpha Gaiden. Sangar awakens to battle a mysterious female who wants him dead after she attacks Earth Cradle. In his first scenerio, he's approached by the Gaiking team, but quickly leaves them behind.
- Kusuha Mizuha - Female, pilot of Ryujinki and Ryukooh. Kusuha's is the main plot of the Alpha series, and she is the only character selectable in all three of the main games in the series. At the start of her story, RyuOhKi reappears, attacked by KouOhKi, piloted by a mysterious masked pilot, as well as the Mikene Empire. It's rescued by the combined efforts of Mazinger Z, Venus A, Boss Borot, Volfogg and "Cyborg" Guy Shishioh.
- Brooklyn Luckfield - Male, alias "Bullet", pilot of the KouRyuOh. He spends half the game as a mysterious masked warrior, seeking to get rid of RyuOhKi. During a confrontation, Kusuha finally gets through to him and reunite to defeat the alien threats
- Real Robot Pilots
- Arado Balanga - Male, pilot of Huckebein Mk.III and Wildwurger. Unique as he starts out as a member of the Titans. When he intercepts an attack meant for Seolla, he's captured by the Alpha Numbers, at this point comprised of the crews of the Albion (Gundam 0083) and Argama (Zeta Gundam), and shown the evils of the Titans.
- Seolla Schweizer - Female, pilot of the Wildfalken. Another part of the Titans team that Arado was on, she was made to believe that Arado had turned traitor after his capture. Arado later made Seolla come to her senses and brings the Wildfalken to the Alpha Numbers
- Ibis Douglas - Female, pilot of Altarion and Hyperion. A horrificly bad pilot, haunted by a crash that claimed the life Filio Presty, brother of Sleigh Presty and fiance to Tsugumi Takakura. When her game starts, she's rescued by the quickly forming Crossbone Vanguard.
- Tsugumi Takakura - Female, co-pilot of the Altarion and Hyperion. Fiancee to Filio Presty, she wears his glasses as a sign of rememberance. She helps Ibis with piloting the Altarion.
"Sleigh Presty - Female, pilot of the Vegalion and co-pilot of Hyperion. Sister to Filio Presty, she holds a major grudge towards Ibis through a good deal of the game until the two finally patch things up in time to form the Hyperion
- Other Original Characters
- Viletta Vadim - Female, pilot of the Huckebein Mk-III R (regardless if Arado is with you or not.). The only active member of the SRX Team (as Ryusei, Rai, Aya and Mai were under arrest due to the events of Alpha and Alpha Gaiden). Mentioned in Kusuha's story, she was on a special mission of sorts...
- Rätsel Feinschmecker - Male, pilot of the Huckebein Mk-III R "Trombe". In actuality, he is Elzam Branstein, brother to Rai. Though he appears in all four games, he focuses more on Sangar's story, aiding him when Sangar transfers from the Grungust Mk-III to DyGenGuard, as the two were allies in the Divine Crusaiders.
