Dr William M. Connolley is a climate modeller serving as Senior Scientific Officer in the Physical Sciences Division of the British Antarctic Survey.
Connolley has published many articles in the field of climatological research and has expressed the view that there is a consensus in the scientific community about climate change topics such as global warming, and that the various reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC) accurately summarize this "consensus".
He actively posts to newsgroups such as sci.environment, writes for RealClimate and a personal blog, and contributes avidly to Misplaced Pages. According to Dr. Connolley himself, he does this in support of his belief that scientists can and should participate in public understanding of science.
