This list contains the 160 legal or de-facto currencies of the 191 UN member states (one of which – Serbia and Montenegro – is split up into Serbia, Montenegro, and Kosovo) the Vatican City, Taiwan, Transnistria, and 40 dependencies.

† = The United States Dollar (USD) is also legal tender and/or used.
‡ = The Cook Islands also have local $5, $2, 50¢, 20¢, 10¢, and 5¢ coins that are not negotiable elsewhere.
♥ = The Cuban Peso (CUP) is also legal tender.
♠ = The Romanian Leu (ROL) is also legal tender.
♣ = The Jordanian Dinar (JOD) is also used.
♦ = The Turkish Lira (TRL) is also legal tender.
