Necessity knows no law

Dear Ragib, thanks for arising this issue regarding the images of our Birs. Actually, for a long time there is none images of our birs, so I did that, as a senior editor you can delete those. I do not have any interest to edit articles rather than Bangladehi Article. Relax if possible, or delete if you feel it was wrong. Couldn't find anything to fill in the blanks for the images. They may have to go till we find a solid solutions. Should I suggest a fair use upload to the Librarian? Aditya 08:43, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I believe fair use would be the only solution until we get permission of the photos. I'm optimistic about that ... Munir bhai has already obtained permission from Prof. Rafiqul Islam to use his famous Language movement photos. I think he is in touch with Matiur Rahman's family, so his photos will also be available. Don't know whether photos of other Bir Sreshthos exist or not ... --Ragib (talk) 08:53, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I believe that so. By the way, Mr. Munir Hasan is perosnally known to me and he has got the permission to use the photograph of or Language Movement, he donated me a book titled A photographic History of Language Movement (1947-1956). Actually we can share us with a positive view all the time. Please see the list of Bir Uttom, currently I will complete the list of our all birs. Sitakunda Upazila

The article on Sitakunda Upazila has gone for a second peer review. It really needs some merciless review, as I ma trying to deck it up for an FAC as soon as possible. It also needs a thorough copyedit and a request has already been posted to WP:LOCE, but a response still lies firmly in the future. Please, take a look (lend a hand, too, if possible). I have replied to your image copyright posting at INB and Village pump. In the past, I have found WP:MCQ to be a very useful resource for image copyright queries since it seems to be populated by knowledgeable editors. Sorry again that I butt in. Momtazuddin Bhuiyan apparently has written a book Bangladesh on the Road to Development, and is pretty active in Bangladesh-Japan relations arena. He also is indeed a naval architect. Not much else I could find. Aditya 05:16, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Banglapedia is definitely very notable. This is a print encyclopedia compiled by the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, with grants from BD Govt. However, the site you linked to is probably not the real Banglapedia site... that would be www.banglapedia.org . recent Brahmo Samaj edits

Ragib, your caution is much appreciated. It is nowhere near being (yet) a revert / edit "war", nor is there a content "dispute". There is adequate communication between recent editors at Brahmo Samaj via the edit summaries - not (yet) requiring resort to discussion pages. In the course of providing appropriate (and acceptable) citations, there are bound to be differences between editors in the "manner" and "style" of presentation of content in the article. The Talk pages and dispute redressal forums are always available if required. BTW the previous issue on your talk page,ie. of clone "Banglapedia" sites was not known to me, and I shall henceforth use the .org site if the same content is available there. Bengali Misplaced Pages

I am not sure how much I can do now. But I can do review/verify etc. Currently, the font there is a bit small and I don't feel comfortable with that. Shaheed Minar Outside Bangladesh

Hi Ragib, I noticed you removed the section from Shaheed Minar page. Fair enough. I am very new in Misplaced Pages. I created the "International Mother Language Day Monument" page mainly to learn about Misplaced Pages. It has been marked for deletion. That's ok too. Could you please tell me when the article is deleted does the photo get deleted too? I would like to keep the photo in another page, "International Mother Language Day". Feedback requested in an RfC

Hi Ragib, I am wondering if you might like to weigh in on an RfC that I initiated earlier this week. I fear that the discussion there has degenerated. I'm aware that you might not know anything specific about the language concerned (which I don't either), but since you wrote an FA on the Bengali language, I thought you opinion might be valuable. I've tried to explain this more precisely in my statement (at the expense of using too many words which I hope you don't find too off-putting). Needless to say, if you do decide to say something, I don't expect you to say anything in support of my position, only to provide you best opinion. Image copyright problem with Image:1tk.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:1tk.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Misplaced Pages's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

• That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
• That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hi Ragib 1) I have not broken 3RR since I have placed talk on the discussion page well before (at 1RR stage) which nobody has cared to reply to while proceeding to undo my edits. 2) The anonymous ID was due to Wiki cookie problem and not intentional. 3) I have also placed a DISPUTE tag for Pirali. 4) I also find it curious that DwipaniyanC is now replaced you.
