Jose Quitongo

This article may be vandalised quite a bit this afternoon I'm afraid, the nonsense revisions are numerous and it has come to the attention of users of a forum in this thread: http://www.altnation.com/forums/junk-talk/134215-jose-quitongos-wikipedia.html AlbaPunk certainly uses that site and though I've already made clear I'm gonna revert any vandalism (I post as Addy) we may need to keep a look out for a day or so, I can see the rubbish returning unfortunatelyCaissa's DeathAngel (talk) 13:14, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Jordan Spence

This just reappeared and should be deleted again as per Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Jordan Spence. The guy who did it has already been blocked for his fixation with adding non-notable footballers, I'll leave the message on his talkpage up to you. Regards English peasant 21:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Emanics page

Dear Number 57

If possible, could you explain what was wrong with the "Emanics" page that we've created yesterday and that you've removed? The page has been entered by the Emanics project leader and by me (research leader). For the text we've used existing text from the Emanics.org website (which is ours).

We feel that a page on Emanics is useful, since it is one of the main EU projects in the area of network and service management.

Please apologize if we made any mistake; we're relatively new to Misplaced Pages and we may have made mistakes. --Aiko Pras (talk) 16:18, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

TFC Infobox

I was previously in favour of the old format but I have seen the Wiki template that you linked. I am now in favour of the new format. However, just a heads up, the shorts for the home kit should be red instead of white. Lucky Strike (talk) 01:28, 17 April 2008 (UTC) Lckystrke

Re: Infobox Football club2

I can do. Just need to think of a name for the parameter. Can't use "stadium" or "ground" as those are too similar to the parameter for the actual name of the stadium. – PeeJay 08:39, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm just trying to think of what the best way to deal with it would be. I think the best way would be with an IF function, but I'm not very good with those, particularly when wikicode is involved. – PeeJay 16:34, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

MLS

As long as every piece of information currently existing in both the MLS and general infoboxes is included in the new one with spelling/terminology variations available when necessary, I support the change. I think we should be able to include things like biggest win/loss and first game if that information is available. I think we also need to develop consensus on how to display honors, if at all in the infobox. Sorry for pulling out before, I just got frustrated by how seemingly useless the changes are. I misunderstood the need for the change to a standard template. I realize now that its so things can be changed universally, but the superficial look to the info can be customized. You've really done a lot of good work trying to build consensus and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Sorry if I've been a pain in the ass. It just gets really frustrating being an American trying to participate in the football discussions, because everyone is dismissive and patronizing. I think that's why we are protective of the American soccer articles, because generally only Americans care enough to edit them. We're not used to dealing with "outsiders" for lack of a better term, showing up and messing with our stuff. I should have kept my cool better and again I'm sorry. -- Grant.Alpaugh 13:05, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I believe you have a winner with that box. Well done. Only change I see that still needs to be made is the American english option for the word "Color". However I suppose that wouldn't apply to Toronto strictly speaking since they're in Canada. Gateman1997 (talk) 14:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Good call. After that is done I believe it's ready for implementation assuming they stop bickering at the Footy discussion. It now mirrors the MLS box and actually has a few added fields like the position the previous season. Gateman1997 (talk) 16:42, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Axel Orrström

Hi Number57, I have no idea if the Ykkönen (the league of Atlantis FC) is fully professional or not, but I know that some editors deem it not to be, see the Lauri Dalla Valle AfD - Dalla Valle looked to have played with JIPPO in that league but was still deleted. I also didn't realise that the article was previously proposed for deletion. Personally I view Orrström as notable, which is why I created the article, but if you and others disagree, and the article is redeleted, then so be it, and I apolgise for having had to have wasted your time. Kind regards, GiantSnowman (talk) 18:19, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Further - I have just realised that the Veikkausliiga, Finland's top league, is not fully-pro. From its entry: "Most of the clubs in Veikkausliiga are professional, although some of the smaller clubs are semi-professional. Average attendance has been slightly under 3000." Infobox football club issues

Hi, it seems your recent changes on Template:Infobox Football club caused some issues with a number of articles (e.g., AC Bellinzona, FC Gossau); apparently, your edits are the main cause behind the huge top margin before the article lead. Can you please have a look at this? Thanks in advance, --Angelo (talk) 21:42, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Slaughter Lord

Why did you delete the Slaughter Lord article?

I hope you don't mind me chucking stuff like this in your direction, if I had the tools I'd delete them myself, but still, I'm not sure I even want the tools, or whether anyone else would let me have them! All the best English peasant 19:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

AFC Wimbledon

Wait, why? It's clearly the improper name of the club and so it shouldn't be the proper name of the article. I don't understand how policy could possibly support keeping something at the incorrect location. -- Grant.Alpaugh 19:00, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Right but there is clear incongruity between the article and the article's title. The talk page and elsewhere has brought this up. There's no reason not to make the change. -- Grant.Alpaugh 19:07, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

57, thanks for the note, I was unaware of the rejected RM. Cheers for letting me know. I'm not sure I understand the issue, the club call themselves AFC without the full stops, but, as ever, I will defer to consensus. The Rambling Man (talk) 12:24, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Gibraltarian sovereignty referendum, 2002

Hi Number 57. A user has requested that I review your recent page move. Image:Voggref02.jpg would seem to be a genuine photo of an official election poster which uses the name Gibraltar Referendum and the user feels this would be a better title for the article. What do you think? --John (talk) 20:46, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I withdrew the complaint for the time as I noticed that John who I had asked to look at the issue left a message (see above) on your talk page. Whatever the reasons for your moves it does not make any sense and you seem unwilling to discuss the matter OR to look at what the things are actually called. If you were not an admin you would not have been able to move the Gibraltar Referendum to Gibraltarian referendum so its a missuse of your status. Can I suggest you read the article and look at the picture of the notices.

I really don't know why you are so insistent on this when its illogical - the sources all say GIBRALTAR not GIBRALTARIAN.

Nicky Holland

Hi. RE the prod ("Fails WP:BIO#Athletes as has never played in a fully pro league"). Is playing in the Welsh Premier League not good enough for notability? Thanks. Ha! (talk) 02:11, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

MLS stuff

My initial reaction was to say I trust your best judgement, however, take a look at Template:Cleveland Indians. My issue is this: Does every team have their own template for that box? Like is there anything that allows changes to be made to every one like the infobox at the top of the article. Unless there is, I see no reason to standardize, especially because of the major NA sports franchise issue, and the lack of an ability to make standardized changes being a non issue. That was the only thing that got me to agree to the changes to the standard infobox.

As for the edit you were talking about, John Oliver did a bit in a special that debuted that night about Misplaced Pages and said that that change should be made to the George W. Bush article, so I made it. -- Grant.Alpaugh 12:23, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Erekat article stuck on the wrong version

I think your perspective, which usually opposes mine, is accepted by the anti-Jaakobou crowd and I was wondering if you'd be interested in helping dissolve the conflict on Saeb Erekat - see following diff.
