Elliot and J.D. seem to be getting close, but an interruption might make the difference between being friends and something more than that. J.D. thinks he now has 48 hours to kiss Elliot before entering the "Friends Zone". In the end he doesn't get the kiss, deciding to be a friend to Elliot at the time. Meanwhile, J.D.'s fear of Turk no longer looking out for him is eventually proved unfounded. The patient that J.D. thought was deteriorating because of Turk's carelessness in post-op was actually diabetic, and J.D.'s treatment of insulin was actually what was damaging him.
