The race between the Soviets and the Americans for the moon. Significant events:
- first manned spaceflight (USSR)
- first orbital flight (USSR)
- first dual flight (USSR)
- first woman in space (USSR)
- first flight with two people (USSR)
- first connection in space between two craft (USA)
- first spacewalk (USSR)
- first satellite on moon (USSR)
- first orbital flight of moon (USA)
- first landing on moon (USA)
As you can see, the Soviets beat the Americans in several first, but did not manage to beat them to the moon. This period of the 1960's was the time in which technology advanced greatly.
