John Carmichael is a Scientology ecclesiastic minister and president of the Church of Scientology Organization in New York City. He has appeared in numerous radio, television and printed publications as a representative of the Church of Scientology in New York in defense and support of his Church and has been highly praised amongst his peers and those outside the Church of Scientology as well for his efforts to improve New York City.

Career

In 2002, John Carmichael was recognized for his efforts to aid with the tragedy of 9/11 by being named as a recipient of the IAS Freedom Valor medal the highest award a Scientologist can receive in their lives. John was single-handedly responsible for directing public relations during the tragedies of 9/11 and for ensuring that police, fireman and all other aid workers received the spiritual, mental and physical help and support they required to do their horrendously grim task.

Controversy

On May 27th 2008, John Carmichael was videotaped by a group of young persons from the Internet activist group Anonymous demonstrating against the Church of Scientology NY on 42nd Street and Broadway.
