The Cabinet is a professional wrestling stable that is based on World Wrestling Entertainment's SmackDown! brand. It was created by John "Bradshaw" Layfield shortly after winning the WWE Championship at The Great American Bash 2004.
Current members
The group is organized like a presidential cabinet. The trademark of the group is the "Longhorn" pose, where each member raises their arms at an angle and positions their hands flat resembling JBL's Texas longhorn symbol.
- Leader: John "Bradshaw" Layfield
- Chief of Staff: Orlando Jordan
Titles
John "Bradshaw" Layfield won the WWE title at The Great American Bash 2004, and kept it until WrestleMania 21 during this time he set up The Cabinet. This reign lasted nine months, and consequently JBL is the longest-reigning WWE champion of this decade. JBL defeated many WWE giants during his reign, including Eddie Guerrero, The Undertaker, Booker T and Kurt Angle.
Orlando Jordan won the WWE United States Championship, after picking up a controversial win over former champ John Cena on March 3, 2005. This is his first title reign of any kind since his debut. Jordan and JBL later "destroyed" Cena's Spinner belt.
The future of the Cabinet seems to be in doubt. After the firing of Amy Weber and the resignation of the Basham Brothers (who were then split in the WWE Draft Lottery), it has dwindled down to JBL and Orlando Jordan. The Cabinet was placed in further jeopardy on the July 7 episode of SmackDown! when JBL threw Jordan at Batista, sacrificing him to the spinebuster and Batista Bomb.
