It has been suggested that List of Naruto OVAs be merged into this article. (Discuss) Proposed since May 2008. |
This is a list of episodes for the anime series Naruto, part of the Naruto media franchise. The episodes were directed by Hayato Date and produced by Studio Pierrot and TV Tokyo. The episodes have been released in North America by Viz Media. They are based on the Naruto manga series by Masashi Kishimoto, incorporating twenty-seven volumes of the source material over one hundred and thirty episodes. The remaining ninety episodes are filler, utilizing plot elements not seen in the original manga.
The 220 episodes that constitute the series were aired between October 3, 2002 and February 8, 2007 on TV Tokyo in Japan. The English adaptation of the anime began airing on September 10, 2005. The episodes have been shown on Cartoon Network's Toonami, YTV's Bionix and Jetix UK programming blocks.
The series centers on the adventures of Naruto Uzumaki, a young, excitable ninja of Konohagakure. He is accompanied by fellow ninja Sasuke Uchiha, the taciturn last member of the Uchiha clan; Sakura Haruno, an intelligent and fiery kunoichi; and Kakashi Hatake, the Jōnin sensei of the three. Throughout the series, Naruto encounters numerous foes, including the Sunagakure ninja Gaara, the S-class criminal Orochimaru, and the mysterious criminal organization Akatsuki.
