If you are not prepared to discuss the issues set out in ] I will be forced to assume you don't have any meaningful input anymore. I do not think that would be a good thing, at all, for this page. -] (]) 11:00, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Falsely accusing ] of ] and making borderline ] against him are completely unacceptable. He has tried to bring about a discussion to reach a consensus and you have ignored him, instead accusing him of vandalism for a perfectly reasonable, if bold, edit. Your behaviour appears to be trying to make a ]. This doesn't help anyone, least of all the page. If you continue, you are simply invalidating your own arguments through hypocrisy! -] (]) 22:09, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
The fact is when I joined the discussion you did not hold the moral high ground however per my remit under ] I was not going to say anything. Then Lao Wai showed a faithful respect to others and you demonstrated a complete lack of it. Frankly, I am somewhat saddened that you were prepared to use ] purely as a vehicle for achieving your own ends, rather than in the spirit it is intended to be used. Hence now I'm acting beyond that remit under my capacity as a peer, whether you feel me a 'inferior' peer or otherwise.
You may have been a Misplaced Pages editor for three years, but that doesn't grant you an immutable grasp on maturity, logic, respect and debate... and as stated yourself you " learned some new acroynms and new rules." Rules which I can only presume I grasped faster than you simply by having dedicated lots of my free time to researching the policies underlying this incident.
The ability to change one's mind with respect to new information is essential to achieving a consensus, whether on Misplaced Pages or anything else. I am not bitter about Misplaced Pages, but it appears you are. I respect Misplaced Pages's amazing ability to bring about swift consensus on amazingly contentious issues through an unwieldy bureaucratic vehicle. In hindsight of course it is 'predictable' I behaved the way I did. It was, at the risk of foregoing modesty, the reasonable thing to do given the circumstances.
Also, might I suggest you learn the definition of bitter. Ironically it describes your emotional response to this perfectly, whereas I really don't have anything to be resentful about. I'm here to learn and to educate others where I can. I have learnt a lot from this experience and feel I've helped Lao Wai become more familiar with protocol. Hence, I have no reason to feel resentful or anguished by this. I'm just disappointed I couldn't fix things to everyone's satisfaction but you can't win them all and looking back I stand by my actions given the information available to me.
There's still plenty of opportunity to discuss this with Lao Wai... and it somewhat perplexes me why you choose to ignore that opportunity. -] (]) 11:26, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
:your response puzzles me, you must have taken my brief thank you comments on your user page differently than I ever intended them. My thank you on your user page was intended only as a "thank you" and nothing more. ] (]) 18:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
