Star Wars vs. Star Trek, is a rivalry between fans of Star Trek and Star Wars over hypothetical skirmishes between the two fictional universes that has become a significant topic of discussion on the internet. In addition, this has expanded to describe the rivalry between the two franchises over merchandising.

Many websites and at least one newsgroup are dedicated either to the active discussion of a theoretical or practical match-up between Star Wars and Star Trek, the collection of data regarding such a match-up, or both. Other sites, such as those serving as information databases for one franchise only, still play an active part or are at least frequently cited in such debates. Many Star Trek vs. Star Wars debates are not limited to the theoretical outcome of a battle between an Imperial Star Destroyer and the USS Enterprise, but include more practical debates such as the quality of the films or books of one franchise compared to the other, or which franchise has had a larger influence upon contemporary science fiction or particular media. A far-ranging subtopic of these debates concerns the accuracy and objectivity of many of the materials and calculations often cited in these debates; for example, the accuracy and objectivity of the Star Wars Incredible Cross Sections issue released for the movie Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is frequently debated and its "canon" status contested because of ambiguous statements by LucasFilm Licensing concerning its canon status, its conflicting status with obsolete LucasFilm Licensing canon policy (which is still considered valid among many debaters) and the fact that it was composed and written by Dr. Curtis Saxton, creator and curator of the site Star Wars Technical Commentaries, whom many believe to be heavily biased in favor of inflating firepower figures for a number of Star Wars weapons in order to maintain an edge in Star Wars vs. Star Trek debates.

In 2001, Star Wars vs. Star Trek: The Rivalry Continues was released on DVD by Passport Video. The documentary covers a brief history of the development of both franchises, including behind the scene interviews with several cast members.
