Hi Shauri. Thanks for your kind words. I also think I am not anti-polish, i also am only against nationalism, or in this case trying to erase any traces of german history from polish articles and the exclusive usage of polish names which are much less known in english than the german ones. I started the vote as a neutral admin trying to solve a dispute, but some users you have mentioned try to squeeze me in the POV corner. I guess you had similar stressful events with german history articles. Again, thank you and happy editing! -- ] ] 21:34, September 4, 2005 (UTC) Hi Shauri. Thanks for your kind words. ==Please stop putting personal attacks==
On other pages against my person.Adding information on SS war crimes and atrocities is a right thing to do.I am schocked at your hateful reaction towards people who are interested in keeping memory of German Reich atrocities.--] 16:07, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
It seems you are filled with some delusional ideas about me.I respect many German heroes. For example Fritz Kolbe. But it seems you are more interested in protecting German nationalists, good name of SS and Hitlers lackays such as Guderian or Rommel. Its btw very "amusing" that otherwise detailed information on SS, or other German units have no mention of war crimes.War crimes that can be found in any simple book about WW2 or at simple google search.I am certainly also hopefull you won't cross my path when I will continue to add that vital information.--] 02:03, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

Olé!

More on Spring Heeled Jack

The Spring Heeled Jack article is looking really good now—great work!

You might be interested in submitting it for peer review in order to get (hopefully) constructive criticism, with the aim of getting featured article status.

Thanks for an interesting read, JeremyA 03:23, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • OK, I couldn't resist—I added a sentence on the Sheffield sightings to the last sightings section of the article. Also, someone added that he was also called 'Springald' - a google search didn't bring up much evidence for this, have you ever heard of this? Also also, I don't like the picture that someone added at the top of the article - I think it should be swapped with the original picture that you put there. JeremyA 05:56, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
    • The 'Springald' reference is from Jerome Clark's Unexplained!: Strange Sightings, Incredible Occurrences & Puzzling Physical Phenomena. It probably derives from a scotish term for an 'active or springy young man'. --Allen3 14:19, Mar 26, 2005 (UTC)
      • Exactly, Allen :) I posted some similar information in JeremyA's talk page a few days ago, and I added it as footnote 3 on the article. Do you think that information should be moved into the article itself? *hugs!* - Shauri 14:39, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)
        • Spring Heeled Jack is an excellent article, a great read. Thank you! Econrad 20:15, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
          • Hi Shauri, I just wanted to say your article on Spring-Heeled Jack made my day :) One of my friends played him in a roleplaying game about two months ago (the game was a modified version of "Castle Falkenstein" based on "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"). Astor Piazzolla

You put a cleanup-tone tag on Astor Piazzolla, but gave no indication on the talk page as to what you think is wrong with the tone. Please clarify so that someone can take appropriate action. -- Jmabel | Talk 00:09, Mar 16, 2005 (UTC)

Apollogies go for the mistakenly inserted cleanup tone tag at this article, due to my inexperience at the Wiki community. I did intend for the basic cleanup tag to go there, tho, for the reasons listed at the article's talk page. As I say there, don't take it badly, but I feel Astor Piazzolla deserves much better than that, and if needed, I can lend a hand in the task. Cheers! -- Shauri 00:38, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I don't see any unresolved issues on the talk page. I see an exchange I had with someone a year ago, the upshot of which has long since been integrated into the article. Again, I have no problem with saying the article needs cleanup, but unless you indicate on the talk page what that cleanup would be, the remark is unlikely to lead to any action. If you "can lend a hand", of course that is welcome, but you don't need to tag the article to ask yourself to do something! -- Jmabel | Talk 00:55, Mar 16, 2005 (UTC)

Ahoy and well met

Hello Diana! You are not expected to do anything in particular about the international writing contest; although you are encouraged to nominate other recently-created articles you have seen that made you laugh, or cry, or transported you to a different place and time.

The results will be announced sometime next month, along with similar results in other languages. Then you will have a duty to read the winners ;-)

In the meantime, as I see you are in the glorious land of Spain, perhaps you would be willing to add your name (and a link to your userpage here) to the list of m:Translators, and to include language-templates on your user page so that spanish-speaking newbies can find you?

Picture in need of help

Hi Shauri, and thanks for your request for help. I work with photos because it is one of the most fun things in my life (that's pretty sad, huh?) and I like a good challenge. Which this photo is. Would you be able to post a larger version of this image? I can work with it, but it's pretty small. I'm guessing from the copyright info you did not take this picture, so there's no point in asking if you have an image that includes the top of the steeple. Denni 03:17, 2005 Mar 31 (UTC)

Original Hemispheric picture

Hi Shauri. Do you still have the original version of Image:ValenciaHemisphere2corr.jpg, which you uploaded as "ValenciaHemispheric.jpg" on March 28? It would be wonderful if you could re-upload it. Thanks a lot, dbenbenn | talk 16:59, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Greetings, Frankfurt invite

Hello Shauri,

I'd like to personally invite you to come to Wikimania in August. It is a Wikimedia conference, with editors and academics and wiki-founders from various projects, and lots of avid readers! It will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, August 5-7. There are people coming from all over the world; from as far as Madagascar, Australia, China, Brasil, and Venezuela...

Also, I wanted to mention that a new German project, called "Kopfgeld", where editors offer books and other small awards to others who help create specific types of featured articles, or organize sets of stubs, or do other important wiki-work, is focusing on translating Spring Heeled Jack! So you've got admirers far afield (whom you would no doubt meet in Frankfurt :). See Misplaced Pages:Kopfgeld for more.

Kind regards, +sj + 8 July 2005 06:25 (UTC)

Molobo

Hi, since i noticed your comment on the Rommel page, are you willing to participate resolving the issues with that user? GeneralPatton 17:11, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Looking at his confrontational editing style over at Talk:Erwin_Rommel, well, it seems that we will have to take this case over to the arbcom. GeneralPatton 19:18, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks, I appriciate your help. Basically we just need a few good users presenting a an overview of Molbo's confrontational editorial style. GeneralPatton 19:51, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Molobo, Rommel & the ethics of Dresden

The reason for my slightly odd comment about it not being relevant to Rommel on Molobo's talk page is that, when I made the comment, I was attempting to view all the sides of this burgeoning edit war at once. I then mistook the Molobo's talk page for the Rommel one, rather silly of me I admit. In any case, I shall politely decline the invitation to debate the ethics of the Dresden and Atomic bombings. Although I would say (with my tongue firmly in my cheek), that if I am aligning myself with Paul Johnson on this issue (and many other more reputable figures), you are aligning yourself with the former Soviet Union's position. Leave my Edits ALONE!

You have reverted my edits at Elf, restoring the SPURIOUS and ILLEGAL screen shots from Lord of the Rings. You also gave false advice on my Talk page. I don't care how many movie screen shots are on Misplaced Pages, that doesn't make them legal. Furthermore, the photos add absolutely NOTHING of substance to the article. There is a reason the article is under Peer Review. People like you are turning it into a fanzine. If you try to restore these photos again, I'll slap a tag on the article and submit this to arbitration. — J M Rice 21:50, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

Ok, one chance to "discuss" before arbitration. The scholarly merits of your inclusion of the photos can be debated, but since you subscribe to the fatuous notion that everyone should have the right to do what one feels, I doubt if we could get anywhere on that score. So, I'll just stick to the copyright issue. First, Misplaced Pages frowns on Fair Use. Second, even if Misplaced Pages did approve of "fair use," stills from a copyrighted movie are themselves copyright and wouldn't qualify anyway. By the way, you no more represent "everyone else" at Misplaced Pages than I do. Second, I don't make threats, I just tell you what's going to happen, and you can take it anyway you wish. For the last time, leave my edits alone! — J M Rice 00:47, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

Hi Shauri

It's been a pleasure to see how you have handled JM Rice. I am sorry I was gone during the debate, but if you have any further problems with him, I will back you up all the way.--Wiglaf 21:12, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

About Anahí

I understand your point about Anahí. However, there is no page that links to Anahí as anything other than the actress. That is why it is actually better to point Anahí to the content of Anahí (actress) rather than trying to prevent someone who is looking for the mythology (which is unlikely at this point as there is no other page that mentions or points to the other use and there is not even an article for it).

That is why Mexico doesn't point to Mexico (disambiguation) directly, althogh someone looking for the town Mexico in the Philippines may be surprised to find Mexico points to the country. I will add the "other uses" link to Anahí, which in my humble opinion, should point to the most popular use. --Vizcarra 20:34, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

  • I only compared Anahí to Mexico for illustration purposes. As far as popular use, I've lived in Mexico and the United States and I know for a fact that the actress is quite known in both countries. Her last two telenovelas have been quite successful not only in these countries but manyothers. I would definitely support you writing articles about Anahí (mythology) and also articles in the same subject
  • As far as the Gloogle test for popularity, Anahí Televisa gets 8,460 hits while Anahí mythology gets 306 hits . Anahí -Televisa +Telenovela gets an additional 563 hits . Anahía -Televisa -Telenovela +RBD gets 944 hits . Anahí -Televisa -telenovela +"Clase 406" gets 250 additional hits . So I conclude that perhaps South America is the only place where Anahí (mythology) is a more popular use that Anahí (actress). --Vizcarra 21:03, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

Gdansk

Thanks for the sweet words about me on the Forsters talk page... But perhaps you have missed something:

  • There is no rule of excluding votes due to low edit count.
  • Chris73&Co excluded a lot of votes for Gdansk, but he dont excluded voters with low edit count, who have voted for Danzig (for an example user Sca).
  • The vote result was no Consensus

Best regards--Witkacy 15:39, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

your opinion is clearly against the consensus demonstrated at the Vote Page
to reach a consensus a 3/4 majority is needed...
BTW, you've just broken the 3RR
nope, i just removed your personal attack :)
Best regards--Witkacy 15:54, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
Still trying to advocate against community consensus
The community does not reached any consensus.
If your favorite football team looses with a controversial penalty kick, you only have one choice: live with it, for you won't get to play the match again::
I am always favor a football team which lost a game because of a bribed referee ;)
If you wanna discuss the legitimacy of the vote, I recommend you to take the issue to arbitration
Im still hoping to solve the problem other ways, but its looks like the issue will go to the ArbCom.

Thanks for spotting the copyvio on this page. Because the page had some content before the copyvio material was added in, the action to take is to revert to the prior version. If the copyright holder later contacts us to remove the material, then further action will be taken. (See the top of the Copyright violations page for detailed instructions.)
