Rollback
Hi,
please don't use the Rollback tool for edits which are not vandalism; see Misplaced Pages:Administrators#Reverting and Misplaced Pages:Vandalism. Thanks, --Eloquence* 02:43, July 20, 2005 (UTC)
- I agree. You have also used the Rollback tool for edits which are not vandalism here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. ‡ Jarlaxle 21:01, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Revert#Admins. ‡ Jarlaxle 21:10, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
‡ Jarlaxle 21:13, August 22, 2005 (UTC)Its intent is solely to be a timesaving shortcut for reverting mass vandalism...
That edit on my user page was a mistake, and I regret that. I was angry and wasn't thinking. But that's not the point. You reverted edits that weren't vandalism. You probably reverted a lot of other people's edits that weren't vandalism as well, but you can get away with it because you're an admin. I'm just a lowly user. If I get the strength to do more posting, I will, but this list is rather incomplete at best. ‡ Jarlaxle 21:20, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
- When you revert those "illegal"-but-good-faith edits, you compromise the integrity of the encyclopedia to prove a point. ‡ Jarlaxle 21:26, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
Inclusion of squadron web site on CAP page...
I disagree that RI-102s page should be linked just because they contributed an image. Should we link the squadron pages of everyone who wrote into the article? The link should be moved to the picture in question and removed from this page. -- NetSerfer

Hey, Linuxbeak, I'd like to know how many edits a person should have if they are considering running for adminship. Would the person need more than 450? --WikiFan04
inuse tag on Swiss Army knife
Hi Linuxbeak, I've removed the {{inuse}} tags on Swiss Army knife since they were placed there on 28 July 2005, several days ago. According to Misplaced Pages:Edit lock, a typical length of time for such a tag to remain is 30-180 minutes.
If you want to edit the article again, feel free to re-add the tag at that time. -- pne (talk) 11:58, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Glad to see you at Off topic. It's yet another invitation to vandalize internet forum article that seems to serve mainly as an extension of the forum here on Misplaced Pages. I'm learning to hate these. Joyous (talk) 23:38, August 5, 2005 (UTC)

WP:RFA Dispute (title added by User:Linuxbeak at 18:34, August 6, 2005 (UTC))
Yes sorry about that. My cursor just slipped. But I have to ask you why do you persist in taking my name off the list? Am I not "cool" enough to be in your little clique here even after all my hard work? I highly doubt if you have the authority to do that. You are crossing the line, my boy. Image
Hi, Image:USgenerals.jpg has a picture of two soldiers fighting each other in the MMORPG game America's Army. It's supposed to have a picture of WWII generals, and that shows up on the US Army page. I tried reverting it, and even re-uploading the old picture, but it hasn't changed. How am I supposed to change it back to the old WWII picture from the America's Army picture? A message left on my talk page would be appreciated. --WikiFan04
- Hope you won't mind Linuxbeak, but I stole this one out from under you. I wanted to try my hand at fixing an image problem, and I seem to have done it. I saved a copy of the good image from the history, deleted the existing images (mantaining the original tag information) and reuploaded the image. Problem should be solved, and I'll leave a note for WikiFan04. -- Essjay · Talk 01:52, August 7, 2005 (UTC)
Looks like you already left a note, so I won't. -- Essjay · Talk 02:01, August 7, 2005 (UTC)
OK, I reverted it. But it shows up the same, so never mind. All clear! :-) --WikiFan04
Cleanup Taskforce reminder
Greetings. You are receiving this boilerplate notice because you have a task on your Cleanup Taskforce desk that has not been updated for over 30 days. If you do not wish to complete this task please assign it to another Cleanup Taskforce member who has space on their desk. If you do not wish to receive cleanup requests on your desk any more, you may remove yourself from the membership list. If you or someone else has completed the task, you can close it by adding {{cleanup taskforce closed|ARTICLE NAME HERE}} to the article's talk page and removing it from Misplaced Pages:Cleanup Taskforce. If you have a status update (e.g. you intend to work on it in the future) or need help, you can update the collaboration page (which is linked from your desk). Also feel free to reply to the person who left you this message. -- Beland 04:19, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

I, regretably, have no authority to take action against Rainbowwarrior1977. However, I noticed that he's thoroughly disrespected you and your station, so I thought you might be a friendly outpost. An anon left the message "an RfAr has been lodged against you", but he blanked your talk page in the process (which I rv'd). Dan100 (Talk) 15:55, August 9, 2005 (UTC)
- There was an RfAr filed earlier today by a MARMOT sock; it had coarse language, etc. I was in the midst of filing an RfAr when it was posted, and I was edit conflicted. I brougt it up to one of the arbitrators on IRC, and it was removed. If you really want to see, its in the history. -- Essjay · Talk 02:18, August 10, 2005 (UTC)

Editing or adding to an old RfC
Hi, Linuxbeak. I never replied to your message of thanks for voting on your request for adminship - I think I was busy with college assignments at the time - but you're welcome, anyway, and I hope you're having fun with the rollback tools!
I have a question for you. Some time ago, I was snooping at someone else's talk page (perhaps Mel's) and I saw a message from you asking him to look at an RfC filed against another user. I think it might have been someone called Marmot. I was a bit bored at the time, so I clicked on the link. I knew nothing about the dispute in question, but you had either filed the RfC or added to it.
This is my question. I think - I could be wrong - that one of the "offences" this user had committed was editing or adding to an old RfC. And I think - again I could be wrong - that that particular complaint was made by you. What is wrong with adding a comment to an old RfC page. I have been wondering about doing it myself, a few times - not with the RfC you were mentioning, but with two that I was very slightly involved in. In one case, I want to withdraw my endorsement, as I now think, after gaining more experience with Misplaced Pages, that some RfCs are filed too easily. In another case, where I supported the person against whom the RfC had been filed, I would like to add a few clarifications and comments. Both of these RfCs are a few months old. Is there a rule against editing them now? Thanks. Ann Heneghan 18:12, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
Phi Sigma Pi
I'm not removing content as a form of vandalism. I clearly stated my reasons for removing the chapter listing on the Phi Sigma Pi Talk page. The listing of collegiate chapters posted was already out of date, and I replaced it with a link to our organization's official listing of chapters, which is always up to date. After I did so, the page was twice reverted. Can you please explain why?

Possible troll
Hi, 71.134.192.100 appears to be a troll. He appears to be JesuitX of the GNAA, although this may be a joke, because he said "my name is not capitalized" in an edit on the GNAA, and kept reverting something that didn't need to be there (a company infobox). Also, all 6 of his edits were on the GNAA. Also, Depakote was participating in the reverting events. --WikiFan04

Verror templates
Hi Linuxbeak. I noticed you added a series of new Verror template to address specific cases where vandals are deliberately inserting bad data. I'm wondering if it would be more effective to rename the series to match the other test messages (e.g. test2c, etc.)? I find it's hard enough to remember the existing templates, much less all of the new ones. --Alan Au 15:35, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Vandal at Memory Alpha
Hi Linuxbeak. I'm an administrator at a Star Trek wiki called Memory Alpha; someone over there may have stolen your username and used it to vandalize a few pages. We've had this happen before (i.e. vandals creating accounts claiming to be Misplaced Pages users and then making disruptive edits) so if this isn't you, let me know and I'll get the account locked. Thanks! -- SmokeDetector47 03:28, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

Vandalism at Orthodoxwiki, too
Alex, I am one of the sysops at Orthodoxwiki. It appears that someone has registered an account there under the name of "Linuxbeak". The user page and user talk page redirected to yours here. After those edits, several user pages and user talk pages (mostly admins') were vandalized. I have corrected the vandalism (except for the redirects), but do not have database access (working on it, though). Thought you'd want a head's up just the same. We may be the only wiki who is praying for this particular vandal; that makes me smirk just a little. Magda 02:17, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
And at Sourceryforge
Hi, This guy has vandalized several user pages at http://sourceryforge.org/w/Main_Page by turning them into redirects to an obscene picture on the wikipedia. He has created an account under the name Linuxbeak there and turned it into a redirect to your wikipedia userpage. I can't do anything about it because i'm not an admin there and don't know how to get rid of such redirects. I'll drop the owner of that wiki, Elseware, a note so that he can revert that stuff. This wiki hasn't got anything to do with wikimedia. I suggest you go there and ask Elseware if he can help you with the IP of the offender. This is one of the most disgusting cases of vandalism i've ever seen online. (i mean the behaviour of the vandal, not the picture] Best wishes and good luck!! Eusebia 13:49, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
