Talk page guidelines

Please respect etiquette and assume good faith. Also be nice and remain civil.

Blocked for 3RR

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 12 hours in accordance with Misplaced Pages's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule . Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Nothing personal — consider this a short shock from the proverbial electric fence. Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 23:54, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Quartermaster chiming in on Obama article and Rezko edits (as well as other stuff)

You come across as an exquisitely honest editor regarding the Obama article. You're a good shepherd. I will tread lightly per your suggestions. Have a barnstar.

As requested, my argument for ACORN sentence, organized

This is a form message I'm cross posting on various user talk pages: As requested, I wrote up my argument in one spot, consolidating what I'd said before and adding just a bit. Please take a look at it at User:Noroton/The case for including ACORN and comment at Talk:Barack Obama#Case for ACORN proposed language, restated. Thanks, Noroton (talk) 03:06, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Help at Project Vote

I could use some assistance here, if you are able to: Talk:Project_Vote#Editorial opinion of ACORN relationship. LotLE×talk 23:59, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

To reach a consensus on Jesse Jackson.

Hello! Please, try to come on to the Jesse Jackson talk page again so we can try to form some kind of consensus with 72.0.180.2 (aka "Fancy Cats") over the disputed content on the article. I have tried my best to explain my position, but i am only one person. I cannot keep doing this on my own. I need you and others to come to the page so a consensus may be reached. Thanks! dposse (talk) 15:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Mediation

I would like to invite you to participate in binding mediation with Noroton, LotLE and I regarding content in the Barack Obama biography. WorkerBee74 (talk) 16:16, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Tweakage?

I've noticed that you've made some edits that consist mostly or in whole of removing line breaks from citation templates. Obviously, I'm not going to revert you, but I do think these are usually easier to edit with the line breaks included. E.g.:

 Some text<ref>{{cite web
 | url = http://example.com
 | title = All about examples
 | author = John Doe
 | publication = Example Location
 }}</ref> and more text.

Versus:

 Some text<ref>{{cite web | url = http://example.com | title = All about examples | author =
John Doe | publication = Example Location }}</ref> and more text.

Both are valid wiki markup, but the first makes it a lot easier to eyeball which citation fields are included, and to locate one when editing.

Canvassing

Hi Scjessey,

Be careful not to canvass when you're announcing a deletion discussion on as you appeared to do on Talk:Barack Obama (regarding the Bill Ayers article). I agree that the article is a POV-fork and should probably be deleted, but if you announce a deletion discussion publicly, make sure that you do not color it with your own opinion, simply state that discussion is underway and interested parties should comment. You can make your opinions clear on the discussion page itself. --Loonymonkey (talk) 01:19, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Obama

Don't forget to remove Obama's other pic of him playing basketball--Ron John (talk) 08:45, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank goodness I took some pics while he was here and I'll make sure they are added to his wiki article and then what re you going to do besides delete. I'm waiting for the chord from my camera to upload the pics.--Ron John (talk) 11:03, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

While we're on the subject this edit doesn't violate any policies I know of, but please be aware that one of the terms of article probation proposed in the latest AN/I report is that people confine their discussion of behavior problems (such as pointing out an SPA, sockpuppet, etc) to the meta-pages and keep it off the talk page. It's not binding unless or until it's approved but speaking for myself, I'm going to start living by those rules now... Wikidemo (talk) 22:37, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

It wasn't vandalism

I thought it was a real page. Smuckers 09:59, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Adnan Koucher

I added a reference and a book title to Adnan Koucher. I think that the current version of the article establishes notability. --Eastmain (talk) 23:29, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Quoting attribute values

I'm not sure if Misplaced Pages is XHTML -- I'm sure much of it wouldn't validate -- but is there a policy on quoting attribute values? Because I'm not doing it. There's no reason to that I can see. II | (t - c) 23:21, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Obama RFC

I've suggested on his talk page that WB not respond to comments, and that he delete the comment he already made (and your response). If you'd be OK with this, please let him know. -- Rick Block (talk) 23:34, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I've actually already gone ahead and deleted both. While I've never before invoked WP:IAR, I believe it clearly applies here. --Clubjuggle /C 23:40, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
