Woodstave

Hi, thank you for the addition to the article woodstave. There are still many woodstave penstocks at various hydro developments in this corner of the world. --HJKeats (talk) 16:54, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Ditto, lots of wood stave pipeline, penstocks and flumes around here. I wish I could find a picture of high-rise cisterns though. Apparently they were very common for water pressure regulation in tall buildings in decades past and are still widely used. --Duk 18:09, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
High-rise wood-stave Cisterns (all within about a block of each other):
  1. Brooklyn 1
  2. Brooklyn 2
  3. Brooklyn 3
I can remember seeing old photos of the skyline of New York showing roof-top water vessels. Were these made of woodstaves? --HJKeats (talk) 18:30, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
I think so. I vaguely recall a public radio interview with some modern day coopers in NY who service them. Cisterns made of redwood can last decades. Nowadays, I think they are usually made of cedar because redwood has gotten so expensive . (or plastic) --Duk 18:35, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Hydro Turbines

Hi, I'm currently working on a project at Lancaster University about hydro turbines. My area of the project is to update the graph with the performance envelopes of each of the technologies. I noticed that you have done something similar on Wiki. What software did you use to plot the envelopes? Also how accurate are the power lines? Cheers Aitch1987 (talk) 10:06, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Reinstate indefinete block please

Can you indefinetely block me again?

I really don't prefer to commit suicide, but if necessary I will cut and paste several pages of copyrighted material anywhere you like, including my talk page if I am blocked for a few days by the AN/I, but not indefinetely. RWV (talk) 11:48, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
