The article on ] is excellent. When I looked into the origins of ASCII a few years ago, it took me days of Googling (or was it AltaVista-ing?) to get the information, and even then I didn't get it all.

(Incidentally, I noticed that some sophisticated humorist had inserted the word "penis" into it, so I registered as a user and edited the article.)
