Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Misplaced Pages:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Snowshoe pic

I love it, but is it really necessary to have two pictures of traditional snowshoes in the article (see the intro)? And if so, why in that section? Daniel Case (talk) 20:01, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Picture needed

Am I remembering correctly that you are located in southern Minnesota? I am trying to complete the List of Registered Historic Places in Dakota County, Minnesota as a demonstration for this type of list nationwide. I would like to avoid driving to Waterford to get a picture of District No. 72 School for the article. Dear Jonathunder, thank you for taking part in my RfB. As you may know, it was not passed by bureaucrats.

As discussed at WT:USRD, the participants list at WP:USRD is being split by state. Since your name only has "MN" next to it, it has been removed the large USRD-wide table, and your name has been added to the MNspecific table. This is part of the lengthy process. Merger proposed

I'm proposing a merger on an article you worked on. Since the shelf clouds and roll clouds are subset of the arcus clouds, they should be integrated into the later article. This would make a more complete article instead of splitting the information among three articles. Anwer in Talk:arcus cloud.

Thanks to everyone who participated in my RfA, regardless of their !vote. I have withdrawn the nomination as a failure at 19 supports, 45 opposes, and 9 neutral statements. As has been written and sung, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need — and what I need is to go back to working on our shared project. Not everyone has to be an admin; there is a role for each of us. After reflection, I feel I don't have the temperament to secure community consensus as an admin at any point, and I will not be applying again in the future — and hey, that's all right, 'cause I stay true to the philosophy that adminship is no big deal: I tried, I failed, and now I'll return to doing what I've always done. I have an extremely strong belief in the consensus process, and the consensus was clear. I will be devoting my energies to volunteering at MedCab and working up a complete series of articles on the short stories of Ernest Hemingway, among lord knows what else.
