Sash! is a German DJ/producer team fronted by Sascha Lappessen, who works in the studio with Ralf Kappmeier and Thomas "Alisson" Lüdke. They had a string of hits in the UK in 1997-8 with Encore Une Fois, Ecuador, Stay and Mysterious Times, all of which peaked at #2 in the charts (in fact, they hold the record for having the most #2 singles (a total of five) there without ever reaching #1). They are still going today, albeit with less success. SASH! Has always been acclaimed for their unique ability to create popular dance hits, which usually incorporate the music style and language of a particular ethnic group. This can be seen by simply examining the group's discography ("Stay" was performed in English, "Encore une Fois" is French, "Adelante" is Spanish and "Ganbareh!" is Japanese in sound and lyrical content).
