Meatpuppet?
Bouncehoper: What the crap is a meatpuppet?
Baegis: A marionette that subsists on a diet solely of meat and its derivatives.
Bouncehoper: ...How is that different than a sockpuppet? (also, makes me hungry....)
Baegis: Sockpuppets, of course, eat cotton products, which are severely lacking in nutrition and deliciousness.
Bouncehoper: How....strange....lol. thanks!

New name
Ah, the weather... as good a reason for changing names as any, I guess! I remember the summers in Korea-- I loved Fall and Spring, could tolerate Winter, but summer? Hot, muggy, sticky, sudden downpours... Nah... Here it only gets 113 degrees or so in the summer, but it's a dry heat... Dekkappai (talk) 00:22, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Korean cuisine template
Kinda tired and need to get up early tomorrow, i will look at it in the afternoon when I get home. I think it is a great concept, I think it just needs to have more working links though. We'll talk more about it tomorrow, oh and call me Chris, my last name is Tanner.Chef Tanner (talk) 04:08, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- I looked at it also, and it looks great! fix the links and I would take it live ASAP. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 08:08, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Wikiproject Korea/Popular culture + manhwa
Hola. I just figured out who you are...your earlier comment about changing your name had puzzled me. :) I came here after viewing the Zombie Hunter article history of edit wars over use of the word "manga". It was like deja-vu, ha ha. Anyway, what actually brought me here was that you'd tagged said article with a WP Korea/Popular culture working group template, and I'm hoping you'll take a moment to pop over to my user talk page and respond to some questions I have about manhwa articles in general. I'm inviting a couple other folks to the chat too, and want to centralize the discussion. Thanks so much!! --hamu♥hamu (talk) 12:43, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Let me think about it; I'm not Korean nor do I have a connection to the country, other than liking the food. Does that matter? Queenmomcat (talk) 15:43, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

It is not vandalism. You are both disputing over content. Take it to WP:ANI, but not WP:AIV. Gary King (talk) 18:22, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome! I'm glad to know the "article polishing" wasn't taken amiss; I was trying to edit only for grammar, vocabulary and the like. I'm still feeling around the etiquette aspects of Misplaced Pages. Queenmomcat (talk) 20:29, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Manhwa project is a go!
I've just been informed that manhwa and other Asian comics have a home in the Comics Wikiproject's World Comics working group! Their omission from the scope was an accidental oversight, and will be rectified in the near future. Please head over to the project and add your name to the general participants list as well as the world comics participants list, and start tagging manhwa articles' talk pages with the group's template. Go ahead and add Korea Wikiproject's template, too, if it's not already there. Please also check out the working group's talk page, where I'm about to start a very rough list of possible tasks. I'm really excited and look forward to working with you! --hamu♥hamu (talk) 03:57, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
No problem, and thanks for your compliments! Right now we're just hacking out some really basic stuff, so drop by whenever you're able– no rush. :) --hamu♥hamu (TALK) 22:40, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Hwang Jin-i (TV series)
Hi, Caspian. I don't know if you noticed, but this very notable TV series has been put up for deletion. I've done a little work on it, but a series as notable as this no doubt has a lot more that can be written on it. If you can point me to some good Korean articles on it, I'll try to work through them for some information, and at least add them as more sourcing to the article. (Also-- I try to stay out of this kind of thing, since I have a strong interest in both Japan and Korea-- but Kusunose's editing of Kim Dae-jung's birthplace has me wondering if he considers anyone born in Japan between 1945 and 1952 as "American births?"... :-) Dekkappai (talk) 21:29, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, we all have our biases, we just have to keep them out of our editing. Maybe he just had a moment of weakness... I'm having some very strange bot-trouble with the image to the TV series also. It's been tagged twice as unsourced, when the source is quite plainly there... I'd hate to see as lovely an image as that be deleted for no good reason. :-) Dekkappai (talk) 21:44, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I don't want to guess about his honne, as long as Wiki-tatemae is observed, we will be OK... Though with these absurd AfDs, and officially-approved vandalism-by-bot, I sometimes have very serious doubts about Wiki-tatemae too! :-) Anyway, I'll try to get the Hwang Jin-i article up to decent quality in time. Dekkappai (talk) 22:02, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Caspian. I just wanted to point out your comment on AfD "..I don't understand the nominator's definition of "'notability'" was innappropriate. I think this comment was innappropriate, even if you made it unintentionally. Better re-phrased would have been "This article meets the definition of WP:N because...", and you would have gotten your point across just as much, or even more effectively, and would have avoided making it personal. Cheers, for now. Halifax Nomad (talk) 23:12, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- To me, your above comment is inappropriate.--Caspian blue (talk) 23:20, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe I'm overthinking it, I agree there. I only singled out your comment because you have already pointed out some of my flaws. :) As far as other people using that comment, maybe that's so, but that doesn't make it right, or the best way of arguing your point. And when you you use the phrase "you're a newbie, so...", again you're focusing on me rather than my argument which goes against the spirit of wikipedia. Anyways, I don't want to get in an argument about it. I'm not here to be hostile and I will say no more about it. Halifax Nomad (talk) 23:25, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- It's not retaliation. If it was, I would have waited to go to an admin. I'm not petty like that, and I won't. As for why I didn't mention anything to Dekkappai, I felt he was out of line actually, definitely more so than you. Not intentionally, just taking something personally that isn't personal. But since I haven't dealt with him already, I didn't feel comfortable mentioning anything to him. You've spoken with me before, and I feel you're rational enough to take advice (and give it) and to stay civil about it in a conversation. Halifax Nomad (talk) 23:38, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- (ce) Just my 2-cents: I find it odd to pick out Caspian's comment, when I was the one who got really hot under the collar over the AfD. However I think Caspian's comment is entirely appropriate-- it is the opinion, not the user, that he questioned. My comments also, though more passionate, still address the argument, the AfD, not the user. I don't think either Caspian or I ever "attacked" the nominator in any way, only the AfD and the arguments. Also, I don't feel it is inappropriate to become upset over a clearly inappropriate AfD, which I think this one is. It wastes the time of a lot of editors, and it potentially removes perfectly good information from Misplaced Pages. If the article is poorly written and sourced, we can fix this, but an AfD is not a constructive way to ask another editor to work on an article. Dekkappai (talk) 23:43, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Citations on Korean Cuisine
Hey there, I have been adding citations in what is known as Chicago format, and just to keep in consistency would like to keep new citations in that format. The citation templates you are using are actually not any real format, they are sort of a bastardization of Harvard citation and citation formats shouldn't be mixed. As I have used Chicago format in all the other cuisine articles, as has Peter Isotola (spelling?) from WikiProject Food and Drink, I would like to keep it that way, i hope you don't mind. It is the most popularly used citation format in academic humanities writing, which cuisine writing falls under.Chef Tanner (talk) 01:37, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- It is what we use in this sort of academic writing in American universities though, I can say it is a bias of mine, but based upon my academic work in universities and how this type of work is usually published in the humanities.--Chef Tanner (talk) 02:01, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Caspian. I'll try to watch my temper and keep us both out of trouble today :-) I noticed an anon edited my old neighborhood-- Songpa-gu-- to add the fact that it has a female mayor now. I could have sworn there was already another user with a similar name! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 13:04, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Moving misnamed Korean articles
Hey, I see you're doing some moving of Korean person articles that don't follow WP:NC-KO. I posted about that at WP:KOREA a little while ago, and never got any answer. You've been around longer than me - is that something that's done on a regular basis? Films
Well, in my experience, most American film audiences are actually far more provincial than either Koreans or Japanese. In Korea or Japan it's pretty commonplace to watch a foreign film, but in America-- unless you're in a big city-- it's something unusual, and probably the vast majority never do-- unless it's a dubbed Godzilla movie or a "Spaghetti Western"... I know Korea blocked Japanese films for many decades-- I "smuggled" copies of Seven Samurai and Ikiru into Korea once to show them to my in-laws. The films amazed them in many ways... Anyway, about Yasujirō Ozu-- he's definitely not for everyone's taste, far too slow and contemplative for most American audiences, certainly, and even some of my Korean and Japanese relatives fine him too slow. I was lucky to grow up with Mizoguchi and Ozu though. Watching Ozu now, decades later, as an adult, I appreciate a lot more of the depth under the stillness of his films. Yes-- definitely, look for some and give them a try. Dekkappai (talk) 17:42, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, the Japanese love their dynamic movies too, you know :-) Check out the exploitation films of the late '60s and '70s-- the Scorpion series or some of the better works of Norifumi Suzuki or Teruo Ishii-- wild and crazy stuff! I do agree that the Japanese cinema has fallen on hard times while the Korean cinema has risen. Not only the anime but all that boring, childish (to me) horror stuff... all the same thing... As a matter of fact one reason I put off watching Spider Forest so long was that I thought it would be just another boring horror movie. (It turned out to be one of my favorite movies of recent years.) Takeshi Kitano is about the only Japanese director I know of working today that I really like-- at least every movie of his I've seen-- I've seen three, I think. Other prominent directors today, like Kiyoshi Kurosawa, remind me of Korea's Kim Ki-duk-- talented, but aimless, they never fulfill the promise of their ideas... Anyway, if you get a chance, give Ozu a chance-- some of the greatest films ever made anywhere, I think, and many film critics say the same. Dekkappai (talk) 19:40, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Anti-American sentiment in Korea
--Historiographer (talk) 16:25, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Pardon me for butting in-- Do we already have an article on that incident started, Historiographer? It seems to me certainly "notable" enough for its own article. And if we do have one started, it can be summarized and sourced and put into the Anti-American sentiment in Korea article. I wouldn't think it needs a large section at that article, since, though it's a major source for the sentiment today, really, it's only a relatively recent one. The sentiment itself goes back at least half a century, I would think. Anyway-- the subject is outside of my normal editing area, but if you need copyedit/English help, I'll be happy to help. Regards. Dekkappai (talk) 16:41, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Also, just looking over the article-- it looks like it's becoming a sort of a list of incidents and "in pop culture"... (do The Host and that one song really deserve entire sections here?-- it seems to tilt the article far towards recent events and pop culture...) I'd recommend making it into more a discussion of the sentiment, its origins, its influence, and working these individual incidents and expression into the body of the narrative. Also, to avoid being labeled "POV", an article like this one should be extra careful to provide sourcing and try to present the story in a neutral tone of voice. Just my thoughts though, and I won't be working much on the article, but good luck with it! Dekkappai (talk) 17:17, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Right-- I understand, and I agree... it seems to me the kind of thing that Misplaced Pages does worst, since people's emotions and biases get involved. It's completely worthy of an article, not one I'd be interested in working on though. True-- I was trying to put it diplomatically-- but the article looks like a collection of what one editor could think of off the top of his head. A subject like this could have a good, encyclopedic, historically-based article though. So I'm just offering help on English copyedit, thinking that this is the kind of thing that will come up for deletion on baseless grounds like "poor English". Anyway, take care, and cheers! Claude Debussy
The Opera Project works closely with the other classical music projects. Where a composer is less than 50% opera we leave the article in the primary care of the Composers Project. If the Opera Project banner appears on an article it means it is included in automated lists such as Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Opera/Cleanup listing. This may not be appropriate. In this case I just removed the banner following a complaint. Can you possibly unrevert now? --Kleinzach 04:30, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- I was frequently editing opera articles long ago, mostly French operas. Although Debussy composed a few operas, he left a big step in opera history and I only follow such view as do others (somebody might put the banner for that reason obviously). Besides, I'm also a member of WikiProject Museum and it is not odd that museum articles have somewhat overlapped wikiproject banners such as WP:WikiProject Architecture and WP:WikiProject Museum. Therefore, I can't agree with your point of view. Sorry.--Caspian blue (talk)
- First of all I do know Pelléas et Mélisande quite well. It's important to understand that banners are not for readers, they are linked with categories which are used by bots for automatic sorting. If articles are in the wrong batches it wastes the time of (human) editors. Debussy is correctly categorized as an 'opera composer' and is present in a number of Category:Opera-related lists. (You can check this out.) In this case Debussy was incorrectly tagged for work by the Opera Project because of the Opera banner. I don't do edit wars so I'm not reverting. I hope you will read this comment, understand my point and revert yourself. You don't need to apologize but please understand that banners are not just decorative spam as you appear to be suggesting. Thank you for reading this. --Kleinzach 05:02, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- I do not think that banner is a decorative spam as you accuse. (I'm hurt by your reckless comment). Besides, I DO KNOW well the suggested list and article because I translated them into Korean for Korean Wikiproject. Besides, I did not apologize to you at all. "sorry" means "regretful" as well. I do have no intention to revert the talk page myself.--Caspian blue (talk) 05:16, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- So, please tell me: what are banners for? Do you know? --Kleinzach 06:41, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

As you appear to be flaunt in Korean and English could you translate some of the comments (or a summary of them) for Manacpowers as he appears to have misunderstood several of my, an other editors, contributions and intentions on Talk:Taekwondo. I've commented at the DRV (and of course Gwen's page) that the close was technically proper and correct. However, that doesn't mean that the all information need be lost. It might be very reasonable to place at least some of the info into a related article, along with the proper cites and refs. Personally I don't know enough about the topic to suggest a specific article, but you seem very familiar with it yourself, so I'm sure you could think of something. I wanted to mention this just in case you didn't realize it was a possibility. Doc Tropics 17:46, 1 July 2008 (UTC) PS - I really enjoyed the pictures on your page, very nice!

Means for gods sake, why did the sudden victim complex of paranoia begin to take root in your mind? for goodness sake, why dont you go edit all the other hundreds and thousands of pages with (perhaps questionable) but nontheless in public domain lyrics? Have you even watched the video? they ARE the proper lyrics and they are on that myspace, whats the big deal? are you going to hide behind flawd wikipedia WIKI:RULES or make a common sense decision.
And Im not going to get into an edit war over something so fucking stupid as that, go do your thing, and then think about it hard. grow upΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ() 21:30, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I am not attacking you, grow up and stop whining. Now, your editing the page, a pretty devicive issue yes? well why havent you watched the REAL video that is linked from the page rather than the myspace FAN video??? Watch that and THEN compare the lyrics, do that make your decision, of course we know what that is already, even though you clearly havent even properly dealt with the whole page (wrong video, not the REAL video made by Yoon min-suk which, since you seem to be too unconcerned about reasearching before you edit, i will include here). Response
In response to a message left on my user talk page:
Commons
Hi, I appreciate that you share and upload your quality photos with Misplaced Pages. However I ask you a favor regarding the uploading. If you directly upload images to Commons, everybody out of English Misplaced Pages can access the images easily and may use them related articles. Besides, transferring images to Commons requires many times, but also removes the history of your contributions, so I wish for the next time, you upload to Commons. If you think that tagging category is troublesome, just add Commons:Category:Korea to photos. So I or others would implement the categorization. Would you consider my suggestion? Thanks--Caspian blue (talk) 18:19, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
It must be evident that I am very new and green at this whole Wiki thing. So new that I have never attempted to communicate to anyone within the user community before and even though I've read through pages and pages of help, don't even understand if I am indeed responding to you in a proper manor and location. My since apologies if I am in the wrong spot here.
It is very clear that this whole Wiki project is put to together and administered by committee. To find any information or assistance must link through page after page after page . . . you get the idea. Guidelines, templates, formatting, editing, licensing - the list goes on and on.
Back to the subject at hand. Pursuant to your request to add photos to "Commons", I sought out the help pages (again) in hopes I would be able to get an understanding the how's and why's of using "Commons". After a very frustrating half hour or so of clicking through link after link on help pages, I gave up in defeat. I did however come across a page where there was a vote asking users which way they thought photos should be added: on subject pages or Commons categories. The vote seem to be tied.
In light of this apparent debate and with respect to your position within the community, your obvious skills in navigating the rules, regulations and Misplaced Pages's idiosyncrasies, am going decline compliance with your request until such time I can get my hands around this whole Commons area issue.
I am also unclear what you mean by the statement "Besides, transferring images to Commons requires many times, but also removes the history of your contributions," from your post.
Thank you for acknowledging my efforts.

I suppose I could try writing to the chaplain (his pictures are quite nice), but as you said, it's always a bit awkward writing to a stranger about something like that, and besides, my Korean is atrocious! Thanks too about the maps. I'm just learning how to make them, so any comments or suggestions for how to improve them would be great. Let's become friendsHi Caspian Blue; let's stop our bickering and become friends. You hurt my feelings; I hurt yours. An eye for an eye only makes the world blind. I'm willing to put our differences aside now because I have realized how silly it is for the two of us to continue fighting. What's most important is that we make these wikipedia articles as bias-free and accurate as possible. Friends? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.120.161.137 (talk) 04:08, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Awww, you know I'm willing to apologize to you anytime. Please forgive me for all the times I hurt your feelings; I promise it won't happen as long as you stop stalking me on wikipedia and stop deleting all of my edits (seriously! I see you everywhere I go on this website). I understand that a lot of the topics I edit are sensitive to you, so I'll try to handle it more carefully; but you have to try to understand that I'm new to wikipedia and I'm trying my best to add references to everything I find. You've made a lot of sarcastic and negative comments that have turned me into a broken man. I'm not going to ask for an apology from you; I leave it to you to see if you're willing to reflect on the things you've said to me earlier. That's how I judge a person's character. So all I'm asking now is that you help accommodate my efforts in turning the "Korean war crimes" article into a more organized and accurate one. The person who initially wrote this disappeared after you two got into an argument; leaving me to do all the referencing because nobody else is willing to help me. Just help me fight off all these people trying to mass delete the article (and you know who they are) and I won't make fun off you or whatever. Really, it only annoys me when you stand by these people. I know you're better than that, you've been doing this for a year. Let's put off differences aside for now. 128.120.161.137 (talk) 04:08, 16 July 2008 (UTC) You see; you've lost your mind again. This is what I'm talking about. Why don't you set the example, the standard, and take road less taken (the rational one). What bogus citations do you refer to? If it's the two Korean ones, I've told you before, those were there before I edited the article. They only transferred to the Korean war crimes article because I copy and pasted the whole. You keep on referring to bogus citations, but please be more specific! And what happened to my offer to become friends? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.120.161.137 (talk) 05:06, 16 July 2008 (UTC) I actually only conflict with you and that high school kid who took European History AP (you know, the one who justifies the summary execution of American GIs and denies just about everything, sourced or not). I already told you my conditions if you want me to speak nicely to you. As for the article being biased, like I said, its fairly new and is in the process of being edited. You still have not pointed out which sources are misleading... or was your whole argument based on those two Korean articles I accidentally transferred over? 128.120.161.137 (talk) 05:06, 16 July 2008 (UTC) Caspian Blue; I could not understand what you were trying to say in your last comment; so I have decided to ignore it until you fix its grammatical errors. I have, however, considered your belief that the section, "Recent Crimes" should be deleted and agree with you. I have included talk about this in the discussion section. Please feel free to participate and voice in your opinion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.120.161.137 (talk) 08:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC) Message to Ex-oneatf and Caspian blueYou have both posted on my talk page so I shall give you both the same message. McCune-Reischauer
Be careful in making changes to the M-R transliterations; some of them were correct before your changes. Please take a look at the table in McCune-Reischauer. The M-R and Revised romanizations have different rules for use of p/b, t/d, etc., but neither scheme is simple, and converting between them is more complicated than b-p, etc. For example, "일본" is "ilbon" in either system, and never "ilpon." The rules are subtle enough that it's worth printing out the table as a reference. --Amble (talk) 22:30, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK, please be careful, then. That was not meant as a warning, but as a friendly note for your information. My ethnic background is of no importance here. Please check the rules for yourself, since we have articles about both systems of romanization, with handy tables. --Amble (talk) 22:48, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I see what you mean. I thought you were implying that I have to be Korean to know the systems of Romanization, but that's not what you meant. To me, "Be careful with..." is not really a specific command, but more a way of calling someone's attention to something. It's funny, but saying "please" in that context can actually make it more imperative. If I say to someone "Watch the power cord," it's just a way of making sure they see it. If I say "Please watch the power cord," it sounds more like they have already kicked it once or twice and I don't think they're paying attention. And if I say "Will you please watch the power cord," that shows some frustration! So anyway, my apologies for the miscommunication, and please take the posting above as FYI. --Amble (talk) 23:20, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

My apologies
Dear Mr. Kim,
I offer you my most sincerest apologies in regards to the misunderstanding that occurred at the "South Korea" article. It was truly an honest mistake. When I initially looked at the photograph; I mistook it for dog food because it looked very similar to it. I was engulfed with rage and quickly deleted it because I thought it was a case of anti-Korean vandalism. Upon reflecting your complaint, I have taken a closer look at the photograph and have noticed my mistake: it is not dog food, but kimchi.
I regret this case of cultural misunderstanding.

Infobox
- Hi. I actually agree with you I don't like to see too many transliterations either at the beginning, I think the infobox looks ugly with too much at the top. BUt many editors insist that we have all of the korean variations in the way that they insisted we had all the trobetan/chinese tranlsations. this is the only reason I added them to the Lhasa box. If I had my way I;d remove most of them. Me personally as an englishman I by pass this, it doesn't mean anything to me. I'd rather we had two or three korean transliterations maximum rather than 5 or 6. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 12:11, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't remember what I said about the photos but I believe I talked enough about them back then and that's why I have not uploaded any images since then. I don't get why you dredge up something which was ended many years ago. I don't understand why you don't think that Stifle apologized to me either. I'm not excusing my wrongdoing by time but I reflected on myself and the matter ended two years ago. What do you think if you are scolded for what you did when you were a kid? Seoul Public Libraries
Hi. You will remember my AfD nomination a month ago of a number of stub articles on Seoul public libraries. The result of that was "No consensus, other than these should be nominated separately. No prejudice against immediate renom, as long as they are not bundled together." Rather than relist immediately, I decided to wait a month and see whether signs of notability appeared, as I see they have in one or two cases. I have now listed one for AfD as a test case at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Dobong Public Library: you will see that I have explained the background and made a proposal for a joint article which I hope you will think is constructive. Begging in English
English does not have a specific term to my knowledge to differentiate begging as performed by monks from other forms of begging. "Begging for alms" or "soliciting alms" is one common way to express it in English; I have also seen begging by monks described as "going on (an) alms round", though this phrase is probably only meaningful to English speakers already familiar with Buddhist practices. The English term "mendicant" does imply a beggar with some kind of religious connotation (previously applied to members of certain Catholic religious orders), and is sometimes used in English to describe a Buddhist monk- but it's a noun or adjective, rather than a verb. Hope that's helpful. --Clay Collier (talk) 04:34, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Request for help
Hi! I hate to be a pain, but Filll and I have been trying to get an old Korean teuroteu up for Featured sound. We've done some of the work, but could really use a native speaker to look it over, and maybe provide a rough translation. It's Image:박향림 오빠는 풍각쟁이.ogg.
As an aside, it's kind of horrible how that became public domain - everyone involved with it died far too young. The singer was just 25 when she died, and the composer and lyricist died in their early forties. =/
Ah, well. Still, it's a great song, and I really want it to be featured. Can you help? Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 12:03, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- That's fantastic work on the translation - please continue! =) I realise it won't translate perfectly, but... better something than nothing.
- Also, I've double checked the PD-status, and it seems secure, so we're fine there. Thanks againf or all the help, and sorry if I'm a little disjointed - getting over a bad cold. =) Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 13:57, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
I've used your literal translation on the image page - and also did work on a loose translation that fits the music =) I've tried to keep to the spirit of it, but, well, that first verse just doesn't translate literally out of the culture. Also "letters" just wouldn't scan right, so I changed it to a related problem.
- My brother is a street musician, and he is always such a meanie!
- Tell me why, tell me why food disappears if I look away - tell me why!
- He steals all of my treats - and not content with that, he gives me "healthier veggies" because he says I'm fat!
- My brother is a grabber! My brother is so greedy! My brother really is a jerk!
- My brother is a street musician, and he is always such a meanie!
- I hate it! I hate it! I caught him reading my diary - then he teased!
- He won't take me to plays: he always goes alone - and never thinks of doing chores when he's at home!
- My brother makes excuses! My brother's always teasing! My brother really is a jerk!
- It's like I'm living with a vagrant, he's shiftless and so very lazy.
- Tell me why, tell me why, he comes in staggering every night - tell me why!
- He goes to work hungover three out of five days, then he complains to me that he never gets a raise!
- My brother is a drunkard! My brother's boss must hate him! My brother really is a jerk!
Lots of liberties, but I think it captures the spirit, at least. And we have your literal translation as well. And I think Filll told me he has a Japanese translation. =) Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 18:28, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Chinese raw fish
I'm not sure that raw fish eating of raw fish disappeared in the 11th century. Certainly the consumption of raw (land animal) meat became very rare after the Ming and Qing dynasty periods but the consumption of raw fish (膾 or 鱠, your pick) remains in many Chinese cultures though it is not as common or popular in contemporary times as compared to the Tang and Song dynasties where everyone from emperors to commoners ate it.
Something call yusheng (魚生), a mixture for slivered raw fish with shredded vegetables, is made and eaten by most Chinese during Chinese New Year worldwide, although this practices seems to be most common with the Southern Chinese. The Northern Chinese cultures of Nanai and the Manchurian also consume raw fish commonly.
Here are a few 梅堯臣 poems on 膾 or with it:

Eating raw things have always had some forms of negative connotation in Chinese culture since it was know that raw foods can cause illnesses. As well, eating raw things was something that the "uncultured barbarians" did and thus one does not one to "lower themselves to that level". Perhaps the rule for cooking food was enforced in the Chinese armies too?
On a completely different note, I personally think the (obsessive) need to cook everything before consumption (water included), freed the Chinese from food taboos present in so many cultures around the world. This is pure conjecture, but the "cook everything" attitude to me explains why East Asians for the most part have worse tolerance of alcohol then most Westerners. Namely, the water supply for Ancient Europe was kept sanitary by alcohol (beer and diluted wine) and those that had lower tolerance for alcohol likely faced some sort of selective pressure. This selective pressure for alcohol tolerance was likely not present to Chinese and East Asians since an alternate method for disinfecting water (boiling) was used. Sjschen (talk) 00:38, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
It's quite possible that the whole thing with boiling water, stove technology, and cultural elitism all contributed to great advancements in Chinese tea culture. Sjschen (talk) 01:02, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Cool. Wow a string of AFDs on important articles! How original and unique! Never heard of that before. Have these people never heard of prodding articles or kindly asking the creator if he could try to expand his short creation? Their criteria for notability is whether it is a few paragraphs rather than doing what they should do, researching it before making a stupid assumption. I find it highly amusing that these people are debating the encyclopedic status of real world traditional encyclopedia articles when we have all those pointless lists of fictional characters and dates in geek series. Some people even jump the AFD queue like Mr BetaCommand and speedy delete them as what happened with that Bulgarian Law Center article. Next time you face an AFD please just provide me a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=It%C5%8D_Hirobumi&diff=prev&oldid=235820634
I think that the grammar was not quite perfect on the article, and also that the word "considered" should be used, to make it clear that it was an opinion. Sennen goroshi (talk) 14:31, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- I was confused by the use of the word "was" - which is correct when talking about Japan, but incorrect when talking about Japanese people (were should be used) - anyway, I have edited the article again to make sure people know it was talking about Japanese people, not Japan. Re: Welcome Back!!!
Hi, Caspian. Thanks for the note and the thoughts... I keep looking back in here hoping to find a way to come back, but I just see more and more I dislike... Not only the deletion, but the tolerance of so much disruption from some editors, as long as they lean towards deletion... I'm doing my hobby writing/researching and contributing at a specialty Wiki now where they don't employ such inconsistent and biased policies as "notability", etc. It's amazing how much better I feel contributing there-- Contributing here I always felt like I was somehow "beating the system" when I got an article or an image through and it remained. The "system" here, it always seemed, is geared towards the removal of anything that the average 20-year-old English-speaker doesn't already know about... Which is a shame, because Misplaced Pages could be so much more than that... I do miss contributing at the Korean film project-- I recently got a DVD of Obaltan-- what a great film! And what a fascinating look at South Korea in the early '60s... OK-- take care. Dekkappai (talk) 17:17, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hi again, Caspian. Oh dear, I see there's another controversy... :-( Here is the exact text of the "Puk" article from Grove:
- "Puk.
- Korean generic term for ‘drum’, but usually used more specifically to refer to an undecorated shallow double-headed barrel drum used in folk music. It has two tacked cowskin heads, roughly 35 to 40 cm in diameter, and a body about 20 to 25 cm deep. Essentially the same instrument, decorated with coloured dragon motifs and referred to as yonggo (‘dragon drum’), is also used in court music. The history of this drum is not well documented, but it resembles two instruments (taego: ‘large drum’; and sogo: ‘small drum’) described in the treatise Akhak kwebǒm (1493).
- The decorated yonggo is now used in military processional music (taech’wit’a): it is suspended, one skin upwards, by a shoulder sash attached to two metal rings on the drum body; the standing player strikes it with two large padded mallets. The undecorated puk now appears mainly in two roles: as the only accompaniment for professionalized folk narrative singing (p’ansori) and in the highly popular four-instrument percussion band called samullori. In the case of p’ansori, the player sits and the drum is placed on the floor in front of him; he strikes the left head with his open left palm, and both the right head and the wooden body with a slender, cylindrical wooden mallet held in the right hand. For samullori, the puk may be placed on the floor or inclined while supported by the player or suspended from a sash while dancing; the primary drum stroke in this loud genre is hitting a single drum head with the cylindrical wooden mallet in the right hand.

I found that Korean Histoy Compilation Committee is commonly used in Korean studies in English. I haven't heard from Badagnani, so I suppose he was not interested or is no longer involved in editing the article. If I may, I'd like to discuss it with you a bit anyway. Do you agree with the following? For each one, feel free to give a simple yes/no or a short answer.
- A loan-word such as buk can have different ranges of meaning in English and Korean.
- In Korean, 북 can mean "drum" in general.
- In Korean, 북 can mean any drum used in Korean traditional music.
- In Korean, 북 can mean a specific type of Korean barrel drum, as here: ko:사물놀이.
- In English, buk does not refer to drums in general.
- In English, buk may or may not refer to all drums in Korean traditional music, to be determined by usage in reliable sources.
- In English, buk may or may not refer to a specific type of Korean barrel drum, to be determined by usage in reliable sources.
Thanks. --Amble (talk) 15:24, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I don't know what you discussed with badagnani, but Romanization is based on real-life pronunciation, not phonemes morphemes. 독립문 is Romanized as Dongnimmun (동님문), based on pronunciation.
So according to the above, 닭 should be romanized as dak. --Kjoonlee 01:38, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

In this case, there is no dispute over the use of the title Buk, and the question is what should be covered in the article. Personally, I find that there's a strong need for an article about Korean traditional drums in general, including an overview of the many different types, and also a need for articles about specific instruments. There's no requirement at all that each of these articles correspond well to a specific word in Korean, and in fact, naming issues are far, far less important than content. Therefore, I suggest changing the approach towards this article. Let's break it into two articles, one about about Korean drums in general, and one specifically about traditional Korean barrel drums. Let the article titles be provisional, because we can easily adjust them later. I believe this is the clear and correct solution to the important issue of article content. Then, we will be left with the lesser question of naming, which should be decided with primary consideration for what's meaningful and convenient for English-speaking readers. Therefore, I will split the current Buk (drum) into Korean drum and Korean barrel drum. I will not touch Buk (drum) but would not be opposed to temporarily making it a disambiguation page. Discussions of the titles of the two articles would be fine at any time. It's perfectly fine if neither or both of them wind up with the title Buk after discussion; it's perfectly easy to disambiguate article titles. --Amble (talk) 03:59, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- (Hi Caspian Blue - I'm posting here a copy of my response to Badagnani's comment, since it clarifies my intentions. Hope you don't mind.) Your point that there are various types of Korean barrel drums is well taken. I do not claim that Korean barrel drum is the best article title; in fact, my main point is that we should first identify a clear set of topic, secondly develop articles on these topics, and worry far less about article titles. I believe we are in agreement that there should be both a general article on Korean drums, and a specific article on this particular type of barrel drum. I also hope that Caspian Blue will agree with this. Therefore, I apologize for avoiding the naming issues, but I believe it will be more productive to first stabilize the several articles with clear scope and contents, and to put off naming until later. Thanks again for your consideration. --Amble (talk) 04:26, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Does this source being ritten, "Japan had to pay tributes to China from ancient time"? And, is there an authority in the Web site in South Korea? If you quote the canonical source of knowledge, I support your edit. --Eichikiyama (talk) 17:42, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reply. However, I cannot consent to the reason why you are quoting a Korean language source. The history book on China where the authority exists does a record different from your source (Korean Web site). --Eichikiyama (talk) 17:55, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Buk
Hi Caspian Blue, what do you think of the newly created articles Korean drum and Korean barrel drum? These are not intended to (necessarily) be the permanent titles, but to give a chance for articles to develop on Korean drums in general, and the specific type of barrel drum. I invite you to improve either or both of these articles. The main thing is to cover both topic. We can have a naming discussion for each article at any time (now or later, I don't mind). In principle, either or both of them could use the title Buk; we would just have to disambiguate properly, in that case. Thanks for your consideration. --Amble (talk) 20:04, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Mochi's insulting language
Though I believe what the article says is true, "steal" is not a proper word there. It is true that Mochi was being rude, but I don't want you to think that all Japanese people are rude. By the way, I have never heard of Japanese attempting to register "kimuchi" to some dictionaries. Could you show me an example? I think all Japanese people know that kimchi is from Korea. If there are some who don't, it means only that they are ignorant, not that all Japanese consider kimchi as Japanese. I would also like to know examples of "packaging Korean food as Japanese food via Japanese restaurant chains," if possible.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 13:37, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- Although I think kimchi has nothing to do with the article, I would like to say that there is a slight misunderstanding.
- Japanese distinguished Japanese "kimuchi" from Korean "kimchi" because of the difference of their making process, just like Japanese Ramen and Chinese Lamian. China didn't think Ramen is Japanese invasion of Chinese culture, but Korean regarded kimuchi as Japanese invasion of its culture because Kimchi was not only food but a part of Korean pride. It was Japanese fault that they never thought kimchi meant so much to Koreans. It may be true that Japan hurt Korean pride. But it is not like what you said. Although Japan regarded Japanese "kimuchi" different from that of Korea and called it "kimuchi" instead of "kimchi," Korea could not tolerate Japanese low quality "kimuchi" (from Korean viewpoint) were floating around in the world market. Since Koreans also think Japanese "kimuchi" is different from Korean "kimchi" and that "kimuchi" is not genuin "kimchi," it would be worse if Japan sold "kimuchi" as "kimchi." How would you feel if Japanese "law quality" kimuchi were introduced to the world as a "Korean food"? It would be worse, wouldn't it?
- Conclusion. Japanese distinguished "kimuchi" from "kimchi" and they never claimed that "kimchi" is a Japanese food. What Japan called "kimuchi" is only Japanese version of kimchi, not Korean "genuin" kimchi. It may be true that it seemed to be insult on Korean culture to Koreans' eyes. The reason why Japan objected when Korea brought this issue to the Codex Alimentarius, which is a part of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization is that they regarded Japanese version of kimchi, "kimuchi," different from Korean kimchi and wanted to keep selling the Japanese version, not because they wanted to have a monopoly of kimchi. No Japanese have ever claimed that kimchi is of Japanese origin. So, I think it is different from claims that samurai, judo, kabuki are of Korean origin.
- As for the website you showed me, it is unbelievable that Japanese people talk as if Korean food such as Bibimbap is Japanese. All Japanese people know that they are Korean food. I read the article carefully and it does not say that the restaurant is run by Japanese. There's no word "일본인" there. Maybe the restaurant mentioned in the article is run by a foreigner who misunderstand that Bibimbap is Japanese.
- The article says "세계적 요리사인 일본인 노부 마쓰히사는 자신이 운영하는 뉴욕의 퓨전 일식 레스토랑 '노부'에서 한국 갈비를 내놓는다." But it does not say 마쓰히사 states that 한국 갈비 is Japanese. I don't know the detail of the restaurant but it is hard to think that he introduces 갈비를as Japanese food. I believe he at least states that the food is of Korean origin even if he introduces 갈비 in his Japanese restaurant.
- I don't want you to misundestant what Japan is like. I don't want you to misunderstand me either. I am no racist and I have never mocked any countries. I like Korean food and never thought that they were of Japanese origin. I am a big fan of Dae Jang Geum. I have been studying Korean because I want to know more about Korea and think that Korea and Japan should be friends. I believe Koreans and Japanese can be friends (as long as they don't talk about history, politics and baseball...)--Michael Friedrich (talk) 17:05, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

South Korean cultural claims
If the deletion doesn't get through, I think it's better to split this article and perhaps integrate them into articles on anti-Korean sentiments in Japan and anti-Korean sentiments in China. I believe this is necessary because the claims made on China are different because they are mostly false where bias of the Chinese media is more relevant than purpoted cultural claims. Removing folktale
I have answered your question on the talk page of the shoujou article. As nice as the folktale is, it runs for several pages and we cannot quote it all. Misplaced Pages must be written in a telegraphic, encyclopedic style not suitable for quoting long amounts of work from other places. So I have removed it and replaced the new material that you removed without explanation (as I did explain on the talk page why I removed the folktale). Please do not remove material without discussing why. I have nothing against the folktale, but it does not belong in the article. I hope that is clearer. Timothy Perper (talk) 15:45, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry -- I spoke too quickly. No, you did not remove anything. That was a mistake on my part. But the folktale itself is too long and complicated. - I said the anon's edit is vandalism not because his English is bad, but because he kept making bad edits (adding a sentence like "These baseless rumors made by Chinese", removing sourced information "Ming Xia (鳴霞), a Chinese journalist, states that the reason why Koreans makes such absurd claims is that China and Korea have a dispute on Baekdu Mountain." , adding false information "Many rumours are "Hoax article", and its made by Japanese and Chinese internet user for defame Korea."' (This website does not say anything about Japanese), changing Kendo into Kumdo, Chinese characters into Hanja, adding strange sentence "Some Japanese believe that Korean claim samurai is originated from Korea" although there is information on ssaurabi and samurang, adding unsourced information "But these claims are only popular in Japanese Internet")--Michael Friedrich (talk) 16:05, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- OK. Calling him vandal was not good. I admit. Sorry about that.
- And as for the "altering," do you mean this edit? I originally meant to put my comment right after my last comment. But you posted your comment while I was writing and I added my comment after your comment by mistake. And you left a comment again while I was trying to move my comment where I had meant to put it. Re:Original research
Hi! Saw your message. As far as I checked, I couldn't find any source that proves Ponyo's mother is shōjō. According to the official site, she is only described as 'Mother Sea'. I think it's something like 'Mother Earth'. That she has red hair does not mean she is shōjō. That is the reason why I thought the edit was an original research. The provided sources don't mention that she is shōjō. And according to the another page of the official site, Ponyo's father was a human being, but he quited being a human and became a sea dweller. That is another reason I thought the edit was an original research. Considering the explanation on the official pages, the parents are not the monster. Am I missing something? I'd like to see the source, if they are the monster. BTW, can you answer Question about dish that is probably Korean? Regards. Oda Mari (talk) 17:26, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Truth
OK. I'll tell you the truth. It is true that my IP is "59.141.42.53." And User:Robert Houdini used the same ID. But actually, Robert is not me. It is my bro, who was using the same computer because there was only one in our house. But he has not been here since last summer. He graduated from university and went to the States. You can see that he has not logged in since last summer. He edited his own page on the 31st of August this year. It was because he was back because it was a summer holyday. That's all.
If Robert were my sock puppet, I would have used him here and when the edit wars occured. But Robert did not appear, did he? That is the evidence that Robert is not me although we used the same IP. I have no intention to use sock puppets. Robert is not my sock.
As for NAZONAZO, it is not me, I promise. I know you can tell that because it seems that you can see others' IPs. You said something about the poll held at Talk:Sea of Japan, but I did not even know there was a poll. I edited wiki only twice in February. If I were his/her sock, why would I have had to refrain from voting then? And as for the article of Prince Shotoku, I think s/he saw the same website because the site comes at the top when you google "図画見聞誌" or "今則臣属高麗也". If I were him, why would I have posted such a proposal as this one?
As for my introduction, I lived in Australia at the age of 10 to 15. I regard myself as Japanese Australian although my nationality is not Australian. I live in Japan now. That's why I said I had lived in Japan for more than 20 years. I often visited Japan even when I lived in Australia.
I have no intention to use sock puppets. It is true that Robert used the same ID as I did but he is not me and he is away now. NAZONAZO definitely has nothing to do with me.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 18:00, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Re:Truth, however your explanation does not make sense
I think I've given you many times to redeem your behaviors unlike other Japanese editors associated with 2channel. If you and Propastop would not make such endless edit wars, or would not canvass again to 2channel, I would not file the tiresome RFCU at this time. Anyway, you introduced yourself that you moved to Australia at the age of 10 and was born in 1984. However, you said at Totoro, you've lived more than 20 years, not less or about 20 years. Moreover your explanation on my talk page sounds implausible because living 5 years in the foreign country does not make you a "Japanese-Australian" since you've well known that Zainichi are not Korea-Japanese but just permanent foreign residents living in Japan. You have edited the related articles, so it sounds very unconvincing.
According to Robert Houdini (talk · contribs)'s claim, you're supposed to be a half Japanese-Korean, so you're a Korean-Japanese-Australian? However you uploaded copyrighted and bashing images against Korea several times. That does not even add up. Besides, your Korean ability is not as much good as Koreans or Koreans outside Korea. However, I also found something similar tone in Houdini's Korean with yours.
A lot of my friends who moved to English speaking world in the similar age as you generally speak English fluently. Well, your English is not much different from mine. Besides, even if Robert Houdini were your brother, you did collude with him for Uriginal and its AFD. Why did he mention about Korean and Japanese soy sauce if he just temporarily edit Misplaced Pages? The matter is also pertinent to South Korean cultural claims. The brother theory has been a favorite excuse used by sockpuppeters for years according to Checkusers. --Caspian blue (talk)
- >>Moreover your explanation on my talk page sounds implausible because living 5 years in the foreign country does not make you a "Japanese-Australian"
- I am no Japanese Australian according to law, of course. But I stated that I was Japanese-Australian because I really love that country. I stated I was Japanese Australian only in my own page. Is it against the rules? I only played pranks because I regard myself as Japanese with Australian mind.
- >> your Korean ability is not as much good as Koreans or Koreans outside Korea.
- It is because I never learned Korean as a native language. It is not like my father or mother is Korean. My grandfather was Korean but I never met him because he was dead when I was born. I am interested in Korea but I regard myself as Japanese with Australian mind.
- >> A lot of my friends who moved to English speaking world in the similar age as you generally speak English fluently. Well, your English is not much different from mine.
- Sorry. But it's been about 8 years since I came back to Japan. And this is irrelevant now.

Your WP:CANVASSING to 2channel
As I said, I really gave more chances you to reconsider your behaviors unlike other disruptive Japanese editors. You have a history of canvassing to assure your position whenever you feel to need to. You asked the people to help you on Kumdo to 2channel, but just notified your finished merger to the Korean project talk page for your intention. That is not a fair game.--Caspian blue (talk) 13:15, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- To ask for supportive external but NO internal opinions that seems a little biased. --Nate1481 13:19, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Michael, do not lie any more. Here are your "own" message to 2channel. I was very reluctant to request for checkuser again because I'm very tired of dealing with your 2channel people. Even an admin asked me to file such Japanese sock/meat puppets. --Caspian blue (talk) 13:29, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

- You talk as if I were the leader of 2ch but it is wrong. It may be true that I did not know the rule that you must not ask for others' help outside of wikipedia. But I never asked them to vote. All I did was inform them that how unreliable those pages were because of some editors like Manacpowers.
- By the way, you accused me of using false information about myself but you did pretend not to understand Japanese too.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 02:06, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
DYK 25 medal
Anyone can give that out, it doesn't have to be an admin. So feel free to do the honors yourself if you want to. Cheers, Cirt (talk) 02:30, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well in any event I may not be able to get to it right away so I'd suggest you leave a note in a new subsection at Misplaced Pages talk:List of Wikipedians by number of DYKs. Cirt (talk) 02:41, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I've left a comment for you that you should probably see here. – RyRy (talk) 03:26, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Kumdo
I wanted for about a month. Objectiveye did not opposed either (see ). He said he was not sure but it's been more than 2 weeks since then. He knew about the merger proposal and had enough time if he meant to oppose the proposal. No one else even came to the discussion. I though I waited long enough. I though we reached a consensus already because there was no disagreement for more than a month. What do you say I have to do before mergin the articles? And I think I stick to the policy of reliable sources in that article. Did I do anything against the rule there?--Michael Friedrich (talk) 17:47, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- >>I'm just worrying about edit waring given the history of the article in the past.
- No one ever objected the merger proposal. I think there will be no problem. I waited more than a month. I'm gonna edit it. If you do not have any objective ideas, I would like you not to revert it. If an edit war occur (I don't think it won't, though), I'll try to look for another way.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 12:21, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think there will be any war. Your reverting my edit might occur one, though.

- I waited more than a month.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 12:29, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't say anything about kumdo in 2ch. Please do not accuse me falsely. And if it were a vote, canvassing would work. But there was no vote. Anyone has their chance to express their opinion. The reason for your reverting does not make sense.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 13:17, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- I DIDN'T say anything about Kumdo in 2ch as I said. You said I had canvassed on the 23rd of August, but I proposed a merger on the 31st. And it is on the 27th that I started editing Kumdo. Your claim is very contradictory. I DIDN'T say anything about kumdo in 2ch.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 13:22, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Po
If you are going to turn that into a disambiguation can you finish it off. Take a look at Po (disambiguation) for a full list. You'll also need to take car of this. I think almost all of those reference the Po River. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 22:26, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- I just thought, if you make Po a disambiguation then Po (disambiguation) should redirect to it. Also some of the articles already listed in the disambiguation may require their otheruses template be tweaked. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 22:39, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, the "what links here" are tedious. I've done that before. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 22:48, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Excellent articles - keep up the great work!
Hello! I was just doing New Page Patrol and I came across your new articles relating to traditional Korean clothing. I just wanted to commend you for your excellent work -- I greatly enjoyed reading your contributions. Also, kudos on your DYK honour for today. Keep up the great work! Baekje
"Most likely the origin of Japan as a state lies in Korea. "Peakche of Korea and the origin of Yamato Japan" is the standard most historians follow." This is not true. It is true that there are some historians who claim such a thing, but it is not true that "most historians follow" that claim. I removed these sentences because of that. This is an original research. Misplaced Pages should not write something so doubtful or it has to mention every existing theory.
I find no reason to hide the information on Chinese and Japanese study on Gwanggaeto Stele. Although there are scholars who controvert the Conspiracy theories, stating only the information on Korean study on the stele is not fair.
Tell me the reason why you had to revert my edit.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 10:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- >>What is the award? It may be your contentment for providing accurate information in clear English.
- What do you mean? It sounds you are making a fool of me falsely. You said that my edit looked "award." I asked you what you meant by that.--Michael Friedrich (talk) 14:44, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes it is...
...an answer to your question. Saying that she is a "top rated actress" without saying why is a peacock term. The citation is meaningless because this is merely an opinion expressed by the writer of the article. PC78 (talk) 13:23, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

I got your message. It is not a good idea to for me get involved as an admin when I have edited an article. Anyway, I see signs that s/he may be willing to compromise with something all can live with. We will see what happens. --Slp1 (talk) 00:02, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Hibari Misora
Hi Caspian Blue. Hope all is well with you. I agree with you that the multiple user accounts are obviously sockpuppets of the same person. I also agree that the user's edits are becoming pretty disruptive. If you don't mind me offering an opinion, though, I suspect a user block will not resolve the problem. If he can jump from IP address to IP address, a block has a strong chance of provoking him further. As an alternative proposal, trying to engage with the user in dialogue on the talk page might work. Then again, it might not work (so far it's been fruitless for me), but at least it might calm things down a little. I don't know. It's just an idea I'm throwing out there. Best wishes, J Readings (talk) 00:05, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
