Coram is a large charitable organization in the United Kingdom, officially called the Thomas Coram Foundation for Children. It is one of England's oldest children's charities, established by royal charter in 1739, and currently located on Mecklenburgh Square in London. It works with children separated from their parents, supports vulnerable families, and lobbies on policy and practice issues in childcare through its various services, such as Adoption, Housing and Support (formerly Leaving Care Services), and the Parents' Centre (which was a pilot project for Sure Start).
The charity is named for Thomas Coram, who established the Foundling Hospital, from which it is ultimately descended, in the 18th century. Coram still owns the nationally important Foundling Hospital art collection, now maintained and exhibited by the Foundling Museum.
Up to 2007 it used the working name Coram Family.
