I realize that the whole Newark Earthworks system might be listed as it is on the ] (at the location: 40°2′52″N 82°26′23″W), but I still think it's misleading to tell people that the remains currently lie where roads and people's houses are since most of the original Earthworks have been built on or destroyed. For example, the Country Club and Golf Course is really private property, it's a golf course built on top of some of the Earthworks. I wouldn't want to mislead people and say, "hey, these are the best coordinates we can use to represent the location of the site as it stands today and where you can go to see it." I know that's not really true, because it's better for people to go to the park instead. Perhaps we should use different coordinates to represent different sections of the Earthworks? Nevertheless, I still think the best location used to represent the site is the location off of Cooper Street (40°2′31.8″N 82°25′48.4″W), because those represent the most intact of the Earthworks that are left that people can go and see on public property, at what was called "Mound Builders Park". That is why I used those coordinates. If people go there first, then they can see the diagrams and read about the entire mound complex, and then if they are further interested, they can try to drive out to the Country Club and Golf Course and see what is left of those formations (that is, if they don't get hit by golf balls flying in the air.) Anyhow, that's why I think that "Mound Builders Park" is the best location to use for the Newark Earthworks, so that people know where to go to be able to see them on public property. Well, that's my two cents anyway. ] (]) 21:43, 31 October 2008 (UTC) | I realize that the whole Newark Earthworks system might be listed as it is on the ] (at the location: 40°2′52″N 82°26′23″W), but I still think it's misleading to tell people that the remains currently lie where roads and people's houses are since most of the original Earthworks have been built on or destroyed. :I can see your point. I did a partial re-revert. Using the "boundaries" as on the NRHP (as the three are within the limits), but use the Great Circle coords. I wish the infobox supported multiple coords, that would be better. Anyhoo, I hope that'll work. Cheers! :) --] (]) 00:29, 1 November 2008 (UTC) | :I can see your point. I did a partial re-revert. Hi, this is your friend Ken (Baseball Bugs). I just want to set the record straight regarding the Presidential Election, which is only 3 days away. I am not a reactionary Republican or a bigot. I am voting for Barack Obama. (originally posted on my talk page on 10/27/2008). In fact, I am a moderate progressive Democrat. With the World Series now over (finally!), I will re-visist my proposed retirement plans after the Presidential Election. Cordially yours, Baseball Bugs (a/k/a Ken and Wahkeenah). Note that this is not a sockpuppet entry. This item was restored to the internet on 11/1/2008 by Cactus League service) --] (]) 16:08, 1 November 2008 (UTC) |

That's thank you, from A to Z (by word or language). Sometimes I'm not good about thanking folks who thank me for my aimless fiddling around on Misplaced Pages. So in case I do forget, this should cover it. If you'd like more words of appreciaton, find them here.
Hey, they even have translations of the classic My hovercraft is full of eels!
Here (and on my user page) are a few of the photos I've taken in my NRHP roadtrips. More to be found here.
Also, if you have an issue with me on Misplaced Pages, please comment here on Misplaced Pages. Not on Wikicommons, not on WikiVoyage, not on the Tardis Wikia. Here. Or not at all.
Extinct settlements
Please have a look at this proposal for a new project (ExtinctSettlments) and add your votes and/or views. I am canvassing as many interested people as I can and your name was on a relevant project list. Folks at 137 (talk) 18:21, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the Ron-vert
Just when you think he's gone away. He must not have gotten his daily thorazine. Thanks. :) --Ebyabe (talk) 02:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
