Report active, obvious, and persistent vandals and spammers here. Shortcut

Before reporting, read the spam and vandalism pages, as well as the AIV guide. To submit, edit this page and follow the instructions at the top of the "User-reported" section. For other issues, file a request for administrator attention.

    Important!
    1. The edits of the user must be obvious vandalism or obvious spam.
    2. Except for egregious cases, the user must have been given enough warning(s).
    3. The warning(s) must have been given recently and there must be reasonable grounds to believe the user(s) will further disrupt the site in the immediate future.
    4. If you decide that a report should be filed place the following template at the bottom of the User-reported section:
      • * {{Vandal|Example user or IP}} Your concise reason (e.g. vandalised past 4th warning). ~~~~
    5. Requests for further sanctions against a blocked user (e.g., talk page, e-mail blocks) should be made at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
    6. Reports of sockpuppetry should be made at Misplaced Pages:Sockpuppet investigations unless the connection between the accounts is obvious and disruption is recent and ongoing.
This noticeboard can grow and become backlogged. Stale reports are automatically cleared by MDanielsBot after 4–8 hours with no action.

Report was good at the time, but is now stale. (40 minutes since last edit) Re-report if this user resumes vandalising. Euryalus (talk) 07:58, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
    • 71.111.123.100 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) - On Mikoyan MiG-29; vandalism after final warning. This editor is very sly; his edits appear to be "fine-tuning" articles on military equipment, by just changing numbers or years. He never leaves edit summaries and employees sloppy language. He has been told that the changes he is making (often several a minute on different articles) are highly suspicious, and has been directed to leave edit summaries and place citations verifying his information, but the only effect was to get him to take a half-hour break, apparently thinking he would no longer be noticed. Can he be blocked? He has gained only five warnings this evening but his edits have numbered in the dozens.. Unschool (talk) 07:56, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Are we waiting for this to grow "stale" also? This anon has demonstrated that he/she is patient, and we are falling into his hands if we do not do this block. This type of vandalism is particularly pernicious, because it is nearly invisible to all but the true expert. Please someone set up this block, so I can go to bed and quit watching over this person. Unschool (talk) 08:22, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
To say that this is disappointing is an understatement. I have waited nearly an hour; I know that there aren't enough editors in Australia to cover these hours of the day, and maybe this vandal has really (finally) been scared off (or has just gone to bed), but I would ask that even with this being a "stale" request, that a block be implemented anyway, in case they come back in 15-20 hours. Unschool (talk) 08:53, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Looks like a content dispute to me - the edits aren't obvious vandalism. The IP hasn't been blocked before so would probably only receive a 24 hour block - effectively meaning that if they come back in 20 hours, they would only have a few hours to wait for the block to expire anyway. If you believe this editor is disruptive, can I suggest you take the matter to WP:AN or WP:AN/I as it doesn't look like vandalism to me. waggers (talk) 09:04, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, at least three editors disagree with you. It takes a close study of his pattern, but he clearly is selecting choices that that will trigger exactly your reaction: "content dispute". And, short of an expert on the scene to call him on his bluff, we are left not only with inaccurate information, but inaccurate information that will very possibly not be corrected for months, if not longer. Well, I guess you can't win 'em all. Unschool (talk) 09:25, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
