The "perfect" Misplaced Pages article is built on solid research (remember to cite your sources). Contrary to popular belief, not all information is available for free on the Internet. Some research is only published in scientific journals and books (ask your library for remote lending services); some material is available only in commercial, password-protected electronic databases. If you have access to useful research material, please add the relevant information to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Resource Exchange, a central portal to find Wikipedians with access to such resources. Remember we can only use facts from sources such as these, not a particular copyrighted expression thereof.
If you are a qualified user you can request access to the databases of paywalled resources proctored by The Misplaced Pages Library. Qualification usually involves having 500–1000 main namespace edits and 6–12 months tenure editing on Misplaced Pages.

I just noticed I have the following message from a year and a half ago...I've never edited any wiki page, much less the one referenced.

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Bay of Pigs Invasion, are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 01:40, 29 April 2007 (UTC) Blocked for vandalism of Misplaced Pages
You have been temporarily blocked from editing Misplaced Pages as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our neutral point of view policy will not be tolerated. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 01:48, 29 April 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.151.54.66 (talk)
Koreans
FYI, I've unprotected Koreans a few hours early after a request on WP:RFPP. One of the users involved in the dispute was blocked indefinitely as a sock, so I suspect the issue is resolved. Thanks, - auburnpilot talk 16:44, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

I think your comment concerning Roger Davies was on-target, I just voted to oppose Slrubenstein | Talk 14:49, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- yeah, I am still considering my vote for a few candidates including Roger. I may update my vote before the 14. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 03:15, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Hm, someone it triggered an empty image entry on a list I was running. I've restored it and will re-check my list. MBisanz 03:06, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Tao-te-ching.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tao-te-ching.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chillum 05:42, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Tameka Cottle
I dont understand why you locked the Tamkea Cottle page. There isnt a dispute. The info I added is sourced so why did you delete it? It seems like you're siding with pink's edits. Subsequent edits after Pink have improved the article, like mine. Did u look @ the inof that was added?70.108.136.225 (talk) 09:36, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

There is an ANI on this user who has attempted to out User:Syntacticus. I understand that you are willing to make difficult decisions. Syntacticus has made few friends, and it appears that admins just want to tell him to ssume good faith. Diffs are at ANI. If you could bring yourself to take a look, and if WP:OUTING is not appropiate, then any intervention you could make would be appreciated.Die4Dixie (talk) 07:08, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
I recently watched the film "Missing" with Jack Lemmon, and was trying to find information on the book that it was adapted from. I noticed that you had deleted the page on "The Execution of Charles Horman" due to patent nonsense. Was there any valuable information on there you could possibly restore?

Reverted your edit
I have reverted your edit to An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything. Be advised that there was already a lengthy discussion on the talk page of the article, in which it was determined that the quote was a needless appeal to authority and taken out of context. I have invited parties to provide a meaningful and accurate context for the quote. (Reading the article, it is about the politics of string theory: but I bet you didn't know that.) Until then, I remain unconvinced that this is not an effort at quote mining. By all means, prove me wrong through discussion. Thanks, siℓℓy rabbit (talk) 21:43, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Edits to WP:NPA
Hi Jossi, I see you're doing a bit of cleanup in this policy. I wonder though, if this edit might not narrow the applicability of the policy a bit too much, as I've seen people pilloried for affiliations that fall outside of the groups you've identified. Thoughts? Should I bring this to the talk page of the policy? Risker (talk) 17:21, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, np. If it needs expanding do so... ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 18:30, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Rod Machado for deletion
The article I have created, Rod Machado is up for deletion. I feel that it is encyclopedic content for the acclaimation his books have received which, in my eye shows notability. I request closing of the discussion which can be accessed from a link in my page. Spencer Divonn'io the glorious (talk) 19:10, 20 December 2008 (UTC) Thanks! Is the issue resolved? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anhydrobiosis (talk • contribs) 20:20, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- It seems that consensus is building to keep the article, so that it can be improved and expanded. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 20:22, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
