It has been suggested that this article be merged into Castle of Cagliostro. (Discuss) Proposed since December 2008.

Dutchy of Cagliostro is the fictional European country, which appears in the anime movie "Castle of Cagliostro" directed by Hayao Miyazaki in 1979.

This country is the smallest member of the United Nations with the population of 3,500. It was the origin of the legendary counterfeit called the Goat Bills, which caused convulsions in Europe for 400 years including the Great Depression in 1929 in the United States.

Scenery

The land is full of beautiful mountains and lakes. This country also has the beautiful Castle of Cagliostro, a castle town and a Roman aqueduct which is still used. An ancient Roman city was found under the lake in an excellent state of preservation.

Military and Police

The military and the police don't seem to be strictly distinguished in this country. It has a group of assassins called the "Shadow" and the police are called the "Royal Guard" which has the power of military too.
