== Malfunctioning DYK bot that need fixing ==
Hello! Sorry to bother, but the current slate of DYK-honoured articles from 20:55, 28 December 2008, (including my entry for ]) seemed to be the victim of a malfunctioning DYK bot. All of the articles received templates for DYK notice, but none of the authors received the DYK notice on their talk pages. I saw that you were the admin who put that list together, so I am asking if you could please rectify that error and send out the DYK notices to the editors whose work was honoured. Thanks. ] (]) 20:48, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
:This appears to be the second time the bot dropped the ball (see messages above). Is there any way to fix this? Thanks. ] (]) 01:30, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

::Gatoclass asked me to look into the bot's recent erratic behavior; If the same editor has written/nominated multiple articles, we need to add different amounts of spaces after the username for the additional articles, as instructed . Otherwise they will receive the same credit multiple times. I am not certain if it is the cause or there are more, but the bot is highly sensitive to the format thing; it needs to be awfully precise. --] (]) 05:40, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
:::The spacing thing hasn't been the issue, best I can tell, and the issue of late has been that if there are any credits for nominators then none of the credits for creators will get posted but if it's all creators then they get posted just fine, no matter how many go to a single editor. - ] (]) 05:51, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

the above DYK hook, was there a particular reason? Thanks. ] (]) 08:42, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

== Edits to protected pages ==
If you edit a protected page, please post on the talk page that you have done so and remove the Template:Editprotected. Otherwise the page remains in 'Category:Misplaced Pages protected edit requests'. Also, and this is a matter of opinion: if an edit is requested to one of the most active pages on Misplaced Pages, usually the input of more than two editors is necessary to ensure consensus exists for a content change. ]] 12:08, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

We literally just got through an edit war on ] over the inclusion of the name of the show's host in the title of the article. The one & only editor who promoted the use of "Meet the Press with David Gregory" argued that because the title card says something, that's the name of the show. In short, no, that's not how you judge the name of an article, or the title of an Infobox. The remainder of this comment is copied from an earlier comment to another editor who is not applying the principle of ]:
Don't be confused by what the show's graphic says; graphic designers don't decide the names of shows. The graphic is telling you both the name of the show, ''and its host''. A graphic is allowed to do that. If you read, say, the announcing Shuster's selection as the host of the show, they put the words "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" in quotes. Same thing with . You are also welcome to check your local TV listings, the source code to the 1600 Pa. Ave (which does not contain the words "with David"), and any number of other ] (e.g. ), which is the only true criteria for inclusion on Misplaced Pages. <b><span style="color:#1018ff;font-family:Zapfino,Monotype Corsiva;"> ]</span> ]</b> 05:21, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
:I'll confess, I was also thrown by MSNBC shows ''Hardball with Chris Matthews'' and ''Countdown with Keith Olbermann'' which both ''do'' appear to contain the hosts names in their full official titles on the MSNBC website as well as other places. After reviewing the MSNBC site, I'm content that you're right about the naming for the show. Sorry for any confusion. - ] (]) 06:03, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

] added a Dyk credit for the article on my talk, but the article is missing a DYK tag, and also is missing from the archive. Cirt told me to contact ], who was in charge of adding DYK tags on the article talk, as per discussion above. Can you please help me? Is the article a DYK? Where is the article entry? I searched in the archive and nomination page by using Ctrl + F, maybe i missed it. --] ] 05:37, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
:Okay, first things first: that set wasn't in the archives yet since the bot didn't do the update to the next set properly and I'm having to do by hand all the stuff it's supposed to do automatically as quickly as I can. Second, the bot handed out all of the creator and nominator credits without issue for that set but only handed out article credits for the articles without parentheses in their names so I just had to manually tag ] and ] as well as the church. I can't wait until the DYK regulars are back since I'm just the Emergency Holographic Doctor trying to keep it running in their absence. I hope this helps! - ] (]) 05:56, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

== Re: A few notes on assembling a DYK queue ==
Thanks for the notes - I agree that would be optimal, but it'd be easier if more hooks were ready and verified to accomplish that. ''']''' (]) 06:40, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
:Well, with four or five queues already assembled, that gives editors a full day to verify the existing hooks before we "need" to start filling more queues. - ] (]) 06:44, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

WTDR
Get ready for a change on WTDR. They have announced what is being speculated to be a format flip for January 5. They are currently running a promo saying they are about to become a "thing of the past." More details to you as they become available. Arob22 (talk) 03:25, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

KUZZ History
I put the old history in my sandbox, or copied it in there, if that's O.K., so I can rewrite it up. The new history section for KUZZ will be more about 107.9 than AM 55, if that's o.k. The other one, if you agree was too long also. I've been wanting that off anyway to rewrite.--JoeCool950 (talk) 00:49, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Q4?
Don't know how you worked that out. The next two updates in line are for queues 2 and 3, which both have the last remaining New Year's Eve hooks. There are no updates at all ready in 4 and 5. Gatoclass (talk) 12:26, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, okay, I see what you mean. What happened is that I manually bumped past queue #1 because the bot stopped working. Then I guess I copied the next update hooks into queue 1 instead of queue 4. Not sure why I did that, but I'd swear queue 1 was the only available slot at the time, perhaps I was getting confused with another time, because the queue has been chock full for the last few days. But yes, you are right, that update should have gone to queue 4 :) Gatoclass (talk) 12:48, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Anyhow, all fixed now. Thanks for pointing that out :) Gatoclass (talk) 12:52, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
