==The Used Page==
Hi, you seem to have helped me since I joined here. There is a user 'Landon1980' that keeps removing information from the used page. If I revert it, they change it back. All this information is properly sourced and accurate and I try telling them that but they do not listen. What could we do about this because I think that they are vandalizing the page by not allowing updated information on it. Thanks.

Seicer was inducted into The Hall of The Greats

On December 30, 2008, User:Seicer was inducted into

The Hall of The Greats

This portrait of Ray Mancini was dedicated in his honor.
David Shankbone.

Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini is possibly one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, but just don't back him in a corner. This gentle guy once killed a man in the boxing ring. He was so broken up about it, he retired from boxing. I dedicate his portrait to you. --David Shankbone 19:10, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

I would go more for Dick Butkus, who was captured on camera standing over a Detroit Lions player who had literally died on the field. Butkus didn't actually kill the guy, it was heart failure. But I recall something Butkus once said: "I would never hurt anyone. Unless it was something important, like a National Football League game." Baseball Bugs 19:15, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
In fact Butkus was actually signalling for help, for the fallen player, Chuck Hughes, at that game in 1971. This year, of course, the entire team metaphorically did a Chuck Hughes. Baseball Bugs 19:19, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Do you think it would be too trivial to have an article on famous sports deaths? --David Shankbone 19:21, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't know about an article, but certainly there's room for a category. "Famous sports deaths" is a little broad. How about athletes who died during the season, on or off the field. I'm thinking of Reds catcher Willard Hershberger, for example, who committed suicide during the 1940 season, the only recorded mid-season suicide; or Lyman Bostock, Angels, 1978, the only recorded murder of a ballplayer during the season; or the most obvious, Ray Chapman, Indians, who died after being hit in the head by a Carl Mays pitch in 1920. Baseball Bugs 19:31, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
This is begging for a category! You'd have to be the one to do it. Two subjects I can't contribute anything to are sports and math, and I even thought it was dicey when I interviewed Frank Messina, the "Mets Poet". Although I do get World Cup fever, but I don't think that counts. --David Shankbone 19:36, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Turns out there is already a similar category, "Deaths among active Major League Baseball players", which Bostock, Hershberger, Chapman, and a bunch of others already appear. They apparently took the approach of "not yet retired", so for example Ed Delahanty and Roberto Clemente are on the list. However, there is no similar category for football players (or if there is, Hughes is not on it). In the case of boxing, there have been (not surprisingly) a number of deaths resulting from matches, including Mancini's victim, Duk Koo Kim, who is in the category "Deaths due to injuries sustained in boxing". Baseball Bugs 19:42, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
And Kim even belongs to Category:Sports deaths in Nevada - ha! I feel like coming up with a "new" anything on Misplaced Pages is like Simpsons Already Did It. --David Shankbone 19:45, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Somehow that led me to an article about Sea-Monkeys, and it occurred to me we need more articles about sea creatures named for land creatures, such as Sea Elephants and Sea Lions. Baseball Bugs 20:02, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Like Seahawks. --David Shankbone 20:04, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
Hey there, Seicer! Happy new Gregorian year. All the best for the new year, both towards you and your family and friends too. I know that I am the only person lonely enough to be running this thing as the new year is ushered in, but meh, what are you going to do. I like to keep my templated messages in a satisfactorily melancholy tone. ;)

Congratulations to Coren, Wizardman, Vassyana, Carcharoth, Jayvdb, Casliber, Risker, Roger Davies, Cool Hand Luke and Rlevse, who were all appointed to the Arbitration Committee after the ArbCom elections. I am sure I am but a voice of many when I say I trust the aforementioned users to improve the committee, each in their own way, as listed within their respective election statements. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to update the 2009 article, heh.

Best wishes, neuro 00:59, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

The Used

Hi Seicer, sorry to bother you with this again, but will you look at this if you get a chance. He's back again, and edit warring to implement the same material as usual. Landon1980 (talk) 01:37, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Blocked for 24 hours, I'll look into this more soon. seicer | talk | contribs 01:41, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I'd say that is about all you can reasonably do. I don't think there is enough evidence to justify an indefinite block. I would ask for a checkuser but I doubt they would do one based on those edits. Landon1980 (talk) 01:47, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
He started edit warring again as soon as the block expired. Landon1980 (talk) 06:48, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
