It was his first collaboration with George Clooney, which spawned several cooperations, including the movies Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, Solaris and within their production company "Section Eight Productions", which also produced Clooney's directing debut Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
Other cast members are Jennifer Lopez, Ving Rhames, Michael Keaton and Denis Farina as well as Soderbergh regulars Don Cheadle, Luis Guzman and Katherine Keener. There also is an uncredited cameo from Samuel L. Jackson to be seen at the very end of the movie.
