One Piece (known as Drake in some regions.) is an anime and manga about super-powered pirates, treasure and following your dreams.
The story of One Piece follows the adventures of a young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy whose body was turned to rubber after he unknowingly ate a cursed fruit known as the Devils Fruit. The series is very colorful and simultaneously holds a Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland flair.
Because of its colorful characters and intense fights between bizarre characters One Piece has gained a level of popularity near that of Dragonball in Japan. Other mangas that have recently gotten near that popularity point are Inuyasha and Naruto.
A movie schedule to premier in Japanese cinemas in 2004 is titled One Piece: The Movie.
