Sand in Taufers (Template:Lang-it; Template:Lang-de; Archaic (1050 AD): Tufres, Tuvers, Tufers, Touveres, and Taufers) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 110 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 70 km northeast of the city of Bolzano, on the border with Austria.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,944 and an area of 164.3 km². According to the 2001 census, 96.72% of the population speak German, 2.94% Italian and 0.33% Ladin as first language.

Sand in Taufers borders the following municipalities: Gais, Percha, Prettau, Rasen-Antholz, Sankt Jakob in Defereggen (Austria), Mühlwald and Ahrntal.
