Premiere Rides was founded in the 1990s by Peter R. Schnabel, former president of ride maker Intamin. While Jim Seay is the president and in every interview states that he is the owner too, it should be noted that Peter Schnabel still holds a majority of stock in the company and is active behind the scenes. In 2006, an accident on Batman and Robin the Chiller, Premier's dueling LIM shuttle coaster, was caused by modifications that Premier made to their LIM coaster trains. Shortly after, all of Premier's LIM coasters were shut down and the trains for most LIM coasters were recalled for modifications. The exceptions to the recall were the three Backlot Stunt Coasters, and both Revenge of the Mummy coasters, since their trains had a different design then the other LIM coasters. Speed the Ride was the only LIM shuttle coaster that wasn't recalled since it operates year-round and didn't receive the modifications.

PREMIER RIDES, INC. DESIGN CRITERIA
Premier Rides, Inc. takes the most conservative approach to ride design, fabrication and installation in order to produce an attraction that has safety at the core of every element. Their efforts provide a high level of reliability in order to keep operational and maintenance costs at a minimum. From the initial structural analysis to the field verification testing including accelerometer and strain gauge analysis performed by Premier Rides’ technicians, every element of the ride is analyzed with respect to theoretical and actual performance parameters.
The design work is performed using the most advanced computer aided design techniques available. Finite element analysis is performed using Algor, considered one of the most advanced modeling programs available. In addition to computer modeling, critical component testing is performed using strain gauge testing analysis to verify computer modeling results.
During installation, Premier’s engineering and project management staff will be on-site to provide technical supervision. They have significant experience in performing projects as is evident in their attraction, Speed-The Ride, which was built by Premier Rides on a turnkey basis in Las Vegas, Nevada, one of the most demanding regulatory environments.
Premier’s scope includes complete testing and analysis of the ride prior to turnover to the customer. Upon the rides’ completion and opening to the public, Premier Rides continues its high level of support with its 24 hour a day, 365 days a year commitment.
