You have new messages (last change).
I do tend to delete messages when they are no longer relevant, so don't take offence if/when your message goes the way of the dodo
New messages
Hi there, Sennen goroshi! I believe that fake 'new messages' bar could be a problem (see here). I suggest you remove it, or change it a bit so that it is different from the actual message bar. Some people do get irritated when they see something like that. Chamal 04:59, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- When I first fell for this fake message trick, I laughed, I guess some people are easily annoyed. Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate the sentiment, but the world will be a sad place if all jokes are removed because someone might get irritated. カンチョーSennen Goroshi ! - True. I don't have a problem with that, just thought I'd let you know. Cheers and happy editing :) Chamal 00:14, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Comment
I invite no action or comment, please; but I wonder if it might be worthwhile for you to examine what I have posted as a "comment" at User talk:Tznkai#Note on the topic bans (Caspain Blue and Sennen goroshi)? Plausibly useful? --Tenmei (talk) 22:33, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- While I agree with some of the sentiment you have outlined on that talk page, I don't want to get involved in any more drama with Caspian Blue, I don't agree with many of his edits, or his tone/attacks - I consider my topicban to be due to getting involved in useless debates with him - it is not productive for me to care about his actions, I suggest you let him make lengthy reports and carry on his own personal drama, his current topic ban and the comments regarding it show exactly how people feel about his attitude. Thanks for letting me know. カンチョーSennen Goroshi ! (talk) 04:29, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Your analysis is entirely correct, indisputable, appropriate. --Tenmei (talk) 04:38, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you, I found this entire situation hard to deal with, when an editor accuses you of something it is human nature to respond - in fact ignoring an accusation might be considered to be an acceptance of guilt, however when the editor in question made a million and one dramatic ANI reports and I responded to every point concerning me it also made me look as if were actively looking to disrupt wikipedia. Personally, I would like to see him prevented from making ANI reports against anyone, leaving him with the option of E-mailing Admins personally only. It does not matter how innocent your actions are, when your name is linked to an ANI report people assume that you are at least partially guilty. カンチョーSennen Goroshi ! erm no.
What I said was:
I suggest you let him make lengthy reports and carry on his own personal drama, his current topic ban and the comments regarding it show exactly how people feel about his attitude.
There is no encouragement for anyone to file anything against anyone in that statement - in fact it would seem to imply that you are to be left to your own devices and that making reports against you or responding is not required, as your continued reports have resulted in your topicban and are likely to result in more of the same in the future.
I don't like people twisting my words, I will assume it was an honest mistake. カンチョーSennen Goroshi ! (talk) 05:17, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Proposing an unexpected strategy
Sennen Goroshi -- All that you have written here since my last posting is summarized in the Latin phrase qui tacet consentire videtur ("He who remains silent is understood to consent"). While I understand its appeal in this specific context, any arguable validity in this kind of reasoning is very thin.
Anything you write is likely to be construed as unavailing, ineffective, unwise.
As an alternative, allow me to suggest the following:
- 1. Leave your words in place, unmodified and edited no further ... and don't remove them from your talk page before March 15th or some other randomly selected date which is more than one month in the future.
- 2. Add no more words in such threads -- neither on your own talk page nor at Tznkai. Until March 15th -- regardless of whatever you may perceive as derogatory, inflammatory or provocative, do your best to keep your thoughts to yourself.
- 3. For now, withdraw tentatively from your own words by striking them out --
in this fashion; and you can revisit any and all relevant issues with a fresh perspective in six weeks or so.
- 4. Try to think of something or several somethings you might have done differently; and perhaps that will prove to be a useful exercise which informs how you respond in the future.
- 5. In the meantime -- between now and March 15th, consider how best to go about re-investing whatever amount of time you would have otherwise spent responding seriatim and ad nauseam to Caspian blue. For instance, you might want to give some thought to figuring out how the Misplaced Pages policy essay Misplaced Pages:Silence and consensus should be modified, re-focused, re-framed?
I hope this turns out to be helpful. If not, please feel free to blame me for offering poor advice. --Tenmei (talk) 01:13, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Hello, Sennen goroshi. You have new messages at Rjanag's talk page. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
FYI
I started an ANI thread about Manmohit2002, with whom you've been involved, here. rʨanaɢ (formerly Politizer)/contribs 00:46, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
