Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person shooter video game under development by Infinity Ward and to be published by Activision. It is the sixth installment in the Call of Duty series and the sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, as well as the second game in the series to be set in modern times. The game was officially announced by Activision Blizzard on February 11, 2009. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released in North America during the "holiday season" of Template:Vgy.

Plot

The storyline for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has yet to be revealed in detail. Robert Bowling, the community manager for Infinity Ward, posted an update on his personal blog regarding the voice work for Modern Warfare 2. In the post, Bowling stated that he was reviewing some lines from the game's script, and shared the radio-chatter line “Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all.”

Development

The sixth game in the Call of Duty series was originally referred to under the working title Call of Duty 6. The official title for the game was first revealed to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by Activision Blizzard on December 3, 2008. Activision Blizzard subsequently recanted their announcement, saying any information about the upcoming Call of Duty game was "speculative," and Infinity Ward also asserted that they had not officially confirmed their latest project. On February 11, 2009, Activision Blizzard reannounced Modern Warfare 2 and set a tentative release date for the "holiday season" of 2009.

Voice actor Ken Lally, who has previously provided motion capture work for the Resident Evil 5 character Albert Wesker, confirmed that he provided voice work for Modern Warfare 2; his role in the game was not specified.
