Today AGV helmets and AGV Sports Group are two completely autonomous companies, one Italian and one American. In 1978 AGV USA, a division of Intersport, Inc. located in Maryland, became the official importer of AGV Helmets for the United States. In 1985 AGV SpA assumed the distribution rights in the US. Intersport, Inc. was licensed the right to make apparel and other products excluding helmets worldwide bearing the AGV name and trademark.
