Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:36, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Deer Lodge, Montana, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Misplaced Pages:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Nyttend (talk) 20:20, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- If you own this book, would you please provide edition number, date of publication, and place of publication? It's essential for verifiability. Nyttend (talk) 21:04, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
RfA Page in Article Space
Hi Seattlehawk, You have transcluded your RfA into Article Space and not into the RfA discussions. Please request a Speedy G7. {{db-author}} I think you'll have to start your RfA again. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:24, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
RfA
Hi, I noticed your attempt to place your nomination onto WP:RFA. You did it improperly, so I reverted it. Please see Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/nominate. However, I would recommend against it. A cursory check of your edit count reveals only 183 mainspace edits. While they may have been the best edits in the world, I can promise you that you are not going to receive much support (if any) for administratorship at this time. I advise that you wait a while, hang out, observe RfAs as they happen live, and review some past RfAs. This will give you a much better idea of what you need. You can also request admin coaching. Please don't let this dissuade you from applying for adminship in the future, when you are ready. Cheers, and happy editing!--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 14:35, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Request reason:
Accused of being a sock puppet of Derek1x, I asked for a check of one of his possible socks of Derek's and Allison banned me without a reason and claimed I was one of his socks. I'm most certainly not, why would I ask for a review of Derek's sock if I was him? Is that not a little strange?
Decline reason:
It is indeed strange. Checkuser has confirmed that you are a sock of this account, though, which was the reason for blocking you. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:21, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
I'm being called a "sock" of Derek1x look at my editing style, look at my writing stylem look at me posts. I'm not a sock. This account was banned before on my IP address. I don't care what Checkuser says. It's wrong. I'm not a sock of anyone, my IP is an office building here in Seattle, Wa. If I was a "sock" what kind of idiot would rat another "sock" out, out of the blue? Do you think I'm stupid or something? Wouldn't I be ummmmm little more more guarded so as NOT to get a "sock" banned? This is MY ONLY ACCOUNT and now it's banned. I only edit my hometown of Butte, Montana for the most part and I've done alot on that page. Checkuser is wrong, watch me, watch my edits, look at my writings. I'm not a sock of anyone. This really bothers me to be accused of this
Decline reason:
The sort of "sock" that would rat another "sock" out could be one that's trying to hide suspicion from himself. Checkuser is very accurate, as it looks at considerably more than just your IP address. A Confirmed result shows that all of this evidence points to you being Derek. — Hersfold 01:02, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. Per our email conversation, I'm unblocking your account. I re-ran the check in some detail after someone mentioned it to me and I was wrong. Please accept my apologies - this was my fault here - Alison 06:16, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

As a compromise, I kept in the shooting, but I took out the information that it was in the food court, since it wasn't even on the same floor as the food court. -- 97.113.93.244 (talk) 21:00, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we must insist that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on X&Y. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. That clearly was not vandalism JD554 (talk) 08:27, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Robert Christgau is a notable music reviewer and having his reviews added to album articles can in no way be construed as vandalism. Even editors with a past history of vandalism can make good edits, which appears to be the case this time. You said "Maybe it wasn't vandalism", which means you should assume good faith and not automatically revert an editor's contributions as vandalism because they have been one in the past. --JD554 (talk) 15:31, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Bar Jonah
Thanks for the heads-up. Looking at our buddy's contributions, I see a pretty single-minded focus that makes me think the kid is not playing with a full deck. Too much butter in the roux, in chef-speak... best thing to do there is revert without comment and carry on. That thing on the Montana project page was clearly a play for attention, a sly little troll attempting to push people's buttons. I don't plan to give the pitiful critter the satisfaction of rising to the bait any more. Be well, __Just plain Bill (talk) 13:42, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Creating pages
Click on the links:
All you have to do, basically, is (1) find a redlink and click it, which will take you to the create-a-new-page part, or (2) type the name of the page you'd like to create into the URL above , and when it tells you that there is no such page, click the "create this page" tab at the top and start writing.
Let me remind you, as far as the communities go: because they're all part of Butte or Walkerville, please don't call them "unincorporated communities" or add them to {{Silver Bow County, Montana}}. Nyttend (talk) 12:51, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Butte FAC
Just wanted to let you know that the Butte article really doesn't have much of a chance of passing Featured Article: although I don't work with FAs and thus don't know all the things that reviewers want to see done, I know that they'd require many more references. Nyttend (talk) 13:34, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
So?
Whatever you think of my words, would you please heed Misplaced Pages:No personal attacks? I wasn't trying to offend anyone by the edit or by its summary; it's simply a news story that will pass and thus doesn't deserve mention in the article. "So?" wasn't meant as a commentary on the crash itself. Nyttend (talk) 12:11, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- The bit that I removed said a "small airplane". Maybe it's because I almost never fly except in light aircraft, but to me a "small airplane" means something that fits a few people (example of what I was thinking), not what this event was. Thanks for pointing this out. Nyttend (talk) 14:22, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
