You're pissed with Sandstein, obviously, and while I disagree that you have any need to repeat yourself at length, you obviously feel the need to. Rather than get into a pointless argument about you needing to let go, I'm just going to ask you to restrict your complaining to your talk page, his talk page (to a point) and to discussions of blocks you genuinely disagree with ''with details on that disagreement.'' ''Please'' do not attack Sandstein on AE unless you have something specific against the block itself, and only if you will specify your disagreement. If you have a complaint about me, then please list your grievance below:

I am agrieved with Giano because:-

Please

Giano, please hold back on your comments for now. I know that the situation is upsetting, but please don't go after people. If you need to air out your grievances against people, please find my email as welcoming to you. Ottava Rima (talk) 22:52, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I beg you pardon? Please have no fear; I am working on the draft of a new page - let's not forget it is the project that is important and that is why we are here. Giano (talk) 22:54, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
I was mostly referring to the comments to Jimbo. I don't want to see you blocked because you felt the need to vent upon him. Ottava Rima (talk) 23:00, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Vent on Jimbo? Oh, he is a big grown up boy, only a very silly monarch would invoke lèse majesté. Giano (talk) 23:03, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I honestly can't say I'm a David Gerard fan, but your comments at his talk page aren't helping anything. --Rschen7754 (T C) 02:41, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Arbitration request

I have filed an arbitration request regarding you. The case can be found here: . Phil Sandifer (talk) 22:43, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Phil, don't you have anything better to do? --Duk 23:20, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh, goodness. It looks awfully like revenge, which is a poor basis for arbitration. It's odd as it can be, though. Having fought to allow off-Wiki communication and off-Wiki considerations, having been a staunch defender of the privacy of e-mail, now to change all.... It doesn't look good. People talk about this being middle school redux, but I think that's wrong. It seems, to me, like nerds in a slap fight: no real force behind the blows, no real effect of the strikes, but tons of shouting in Klingon. (My 'this' is the continual Rfar-ing of whoever has annoyed a person who thinks himself a creature of power.) Couldn't we save Rfar for dispute resolution? Couldn't we save policy enforcement for administrators? Geogre (talk) 10:55, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

RFC

Per multiple requests, I've changed the venue of the above to requests for comment. That page can be found here: Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/Giano II.

In the interests of exhausting forms of dispute resolution other than arbitration, I am, of course, also willing to discuss the matter outside of community comment. I have e-mail this user enabled, if you would like to talk via e-mail, or we can do so on-wiki - I'm happy to create a user subpage for the discussion. If you're interested in either approach, please let me know. Phil Sandifer (talk) 00:19, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I rather think you are supposed to attempt dialogue before not afterwards. Emails from me seem to be rather odd things, misconstrued, passed about and generally lied about. So that is an area of my "wiki-conduct" I shall definitly be amending. Regarding your RFC, I have not yet had chance to look at it - Doubtless, Elonka, Durova and Co and the usuals are saying the usual things. Recent events must have been very dissapointing for you, allthough you and your friends had rather grasped the wrong end of the stick regarding my position and view - that's the problem with emails when only the selected are circulated. Perhaps you will have better luck with this. Giano (talk) 08:47, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Following the obscene and pernicious comments made by Durova for the salacious delight of her friends I shall no longer be partaking in the above circus. I advise all friends to do likewise. I truly do not need defending from those such as Durova and her cronies. Giano (talk) 16:34, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

(outdent) Wiki emailing should be abolished IMO (along with that IRC thingy). Everything on Misplaced Pages, should be fully out in the open. GoodDay (talk) 17:14, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I've asked you direct questions on that RfC twice, and you've ignored me twice Giano - I would rather appreciated if would do me the common courtesy of answering them - especially since neither is out to get you. I also note - you asked politely not to have your comments refactored - and they have not been, but you also justified it based on your participation in the RfC.--Tznkai (talk) 18:46, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I am no longer taking part in such a ridiculous charade, of distortion, half truth and downright stupidity - and if I have to read one more reference to Durova's war record or her Uncle escaping the Twin Towers - I shall begin to tell you all interesting stories about my own family's heroic exploits, which will truly bore you all to tears. So I am afraid your questions must remain unanswered. Besides which the whole thing is making poor Phil "sad" so it is kindest if I refrain from commenting and leave you all to have a glorious gossip on your own.Giano (talk) 18:50, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I have no particular issue with you heaping abuse on me - perhaps even Phil - he ran the risk filing the RfC, and I'm sure Durova is getting used to it, but there are those defending you in that RfC who are not "gossiping" - and there are others who are doing their best to genuinely resolve the situation as well. Be careful with your language and your tar brush - there are people worth your respect involved in that RfC - or are you truly willing designate every summary and discussion on that page without your endorsement as " a ridiculous charade, of distortion, half truth and downright stupidity?"--Tznkai (talk) 19:07, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I am glad there are those who feel I am worth defending, and I thank them. I don't feel I have heaped abuse on your head, or that of Phil, but if that is how you feel, then that must be hard for you. Regarding Durova - many people serve in dangerous situations all over the world for many years without comment, I applaud all who put themselves at risk for the defence of others, but quite frankly this is not the place to discuss one's career in the army, the FBI or or the RSPCA - and I am sick to death of her using it to justify almost every comment she makes. Giano (talk) 19:16, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Its rather unclear who you mean by Durova's cronies, I could only guess based on your language that you meant everyone participating in that thread, or the RfC as a whole - which was kind of my point. You're using broad language which is casting a resulting wide net - or at least the shadow of one. As for Durova - yes, many others have have risked their lives and no, Misplaced Pages governance is not a good place for discussions of your real life. I can't find a useful way that conversation ends so for now I just shrug and sigh. Clearly, you and Durova have nothing useful to say to eachother - and I can't say I blame either of you at this point - but others have some useful things to say, so I'd ask you at least address those people.--Tznkai (talk) 19:39, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

WT:RFAR

To repeat what I have already said - your comment to Durova on WT:RFAR is far out of line, and you know better. Act like the (hu)man you are. Unless of course, your plan is to let your comments remain even after Durova and Scott both showed maturity in withdrawing theirs - although why you would do that, I do not know.--Tznkai (talk) 23:04, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

would you mind remaining where you are until my new portal (see above) is completed, and then I will direct you to the appropriate area to deposit your complaint. Building works are always such a nuisance aren't they? Giano (talk) 23:10, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Tznkai drop it. It's trivial - let it slide.--Scott Mac (Doc) 23:12, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Would you all mind forming an orderly queue, the portal will be opening shortly, as soon as Mr Merridew has completed it. It will have a complaints department and all sorts of all singing and dancing areas. I may even give a party to celebrate its opening. Giano (talk) 23:27, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Any celebrities at the party? They say Minnie Driver will attend the opening of an envelope.--Scott Mac (Doc) 23:28, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh rest assured there will be a couple of surprises for you. Giano (talk) 23:29, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
That's what you told Minnie Driver when you lured her into your gondola. Utgard Loki (talk) 12:48, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Uh, good input; ( not reading that page, I'm just the builder ;) Cheers, Jack Merridew 05:03, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

I did not start this RFC and I do not wish to participate in it. I have seen sufficient. It is now off my watch list, and as we live in a free world that is my choice. Good evening. Giano (talk) 19:49, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

RFAr (2nd attempt)

Due to the lack of useful outcome in the RfC, I have requested that the arbitration committee look into the relevant issues. The relevant request for arbitration can be found here: Phil Sandifer (talk) 05:06, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I shall be taking the same keen interest and participation in your latest Misplaced Pages activity as I have taken in your previous. I prefer to spend my time writing pages etc. I'm sure you will receive the support you deserve. Giano (talk) 09:47, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
"Useful?" Oh, Snowspinner, you're so cute! No... wait... I mean the opposite... obtuse? I certainly hope that you find something "useful" somewhere, because you're not of much use here that I can see. Geogre (talk) 12:13, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Best RFAR comment *ever*

You never know who will drop by to check in

Oh, that's going to provoke a wonderful reaction when Giano sees it. *rolls eyes* (tempted to remove it myself, but figure it's up to G) SirFozzie (talk) 20:17, 19 January 2009 (UTC) (an all flashing and revolving Jimbo had been placed on my page )
  • Oh very amusing indeed! Were it not that the person in question is, as we speak, enjoying an all expenses paid holiday at my Palazzo Splendido, Cayman Islands, I may just have thought it was him. If anybody would like to book the palazzo for a short period (when I am not in residence), there is a small discount for Wikipedians (all major credit cards accepted). The palazzo comes equipped with all entertainment (inclusive) as described in the many all colour magazines released by my company, Palermo Publishing. A company so cruelly and wrongly slandered by Il Vaticano. In the meantime will somebody please remove that thing from my page. Giano (talk) 21:31, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Done, Giano. SirFozzie (talk) 21:32, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, you can have two nights for the price of one, please email any preferences. Giano (talk) 21:34, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Lordy, there should be a law against putting that thing on the pages of wikipedians with kids, or who are of a nervous disposition. What next? A spinning David Gerard? I know we're not censored, but their are limits.--Scott Mac (Doc) 21:36, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh go away, Scots are known to be dour and not enjoy that sort of thing (or be too mean to pay) all that cold air under the kilt I expect. The rest of us have to supplement our income as best one can in these credit crunching days. Giano (talk) 21:40, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Giano, I'm quite sure Scotty is commenting on the drawbacks of having the heads of notorious Wikipedians popping up here and there, and not on your lovely palazzo. I hope your comments don't reflect the level of service offered. Is there turn down service with a nice chocolate on the pillow, Ferrero Rocher perhaps? ChildofMidnight (talk) 00:43, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Quite. I just felt there might be better places to stick the heads of "notorious wikipedians".--Scott Mac (Doc) 01:03, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh we can put far more than a Ferrero Rocher on the pilow! So you don't want a discounted night (with "companion" of your choice - $50 extra) in the "Honeymoon Suite"? Have you any idea what it's like trying to run a business in these straightened times? Giano (talk) 08:30, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Ferrero Rocher? I would have thought you would have been quite insulted at that Giano, for I thought Baci would have been more your thing. --Russavia 20:46, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

A shocking rumour is being spread

Is it true you're a brothel-keeper? Bishonen | talk 20:07, 20 January 2009 (UTC).

  • While I appreciate you are referring to the thread above, I am both shocked, horrified and affronted that such a thought could have crossed your mind. While Palazzo Splendido (see my new User page) is architecturally challenging for the Cayman Islands, in no way can it be likened to a house of ill-repute. The same can be said of the other similar properties/businesses owned by my company, Palermo Publishing pour Hommes Inc Ltd, throughout the world. I demand you apologise at once. For Wikipedians seeking a discount (2 nights for the price of 3 - with the "chef's delight")contact my secretary Ms Relexee Vouslasoir. Yours affrontedly. Giano (talk) 20:22, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, I'm certainly enjoying my wikibreak; the accommodations are splendid and the host and staff are most courteous and skilled. Cheers, Jack Merridew 04:42, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Do you really think Scots are tight?

Hey, Giano. Do you realy think us Scots are tight? Are you anti Scots? I generaly think your arguments are well thought out and correct. As someone who has silently agreed with much of what you have said I am so dissapointed at your response to a Scotsman giving his opinion. If you are anti Scots, then I'm afraid I've got to be anti you. Sorry, but there it is. Titch Tucker (talk) 00:10, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm quite sure he was kidding Titch. If you're talking about the comments I think you're talking about, there was buffoonery all the way around. But certainly Giano can and I expect will, be happy to give us his view on the Scots, kilt wearing, Braveheart, Mel Gibson, bagpipes, and Haggis. ChildofMidnight (talk) 01:06, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
I'll look forward to it, and hope I'm proved wrong. Over to you Giano. Titch Tucker (talk) 01:31, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
We're a bunch of tight-fisted parsimonious scrooges. Scrooge McDuck demonstrates that even Disney have recognised this. Yeah, even the carpet sellers in Istanbul have a stock of jokes about Scottish tight-fistedness, and that they have remembered them and thought it wise to use them on Scotchmen such as me shows that no-one was ever likely to get offended. Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 06:00, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Giano quite wisely has ignored this little challenge, which has no motivation here other than to create trouble.--Wetman (talk) 08:40, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Wetman is quite right, anyway I am far too busy luring other men's girlfriends into gondolas, serenading then with "O solo Mio", and saying "you are a very beautiful ladeee". There is as much chance of any of this being true as there is of me being the brothel keeper on which the whole thread centres. I think Titch you have rather misread the tone of the thread. Giano (talk) 09:44, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
If, as you say, I have misread the thread, then I apologise to you for infering that you are anti-Scots. To make things clear, I did not come here to cause trouble, I make it a point not to go around trying to cause trouble for people. I only came here to ask a question. People may think I'm being a little sensitive over this but, I do find it odd that using stereotypes for black people, Pakistanis or Indians is frowned upon yet Scottish or Irish ones are still acceptable. As I said, I am perhaps being oversensitive and I'm sure you are not anti-Scots. Cheers. PS, personaly, I blame this guy. Titch Tucker (talk) 13:24, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

I have nominated Buckingham Palace for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. —Mattisse (Talk) 19:35, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Do you have a name, or are you ahamed of your actions? I wrote BP to FA status. I re-wrote it for the last FARC after years of rubbish being added. I have no intention of re-writing it again, when efforts to moniter the page are just criticised by people like User:Mattisse. I suggest you contact her, and aak her to use her considerable talents in re-writing it again. In short, the page is unstable, and efforts to maintain it are thwarted. Giano (talk) 12:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Isn't it amusing that the effort at removing the passive voice only works if the dufus who does the FAR actually signs the post? In fact, it's Mattisse, again, trying to destroy every article. Apparently, the previous RFC did no good, and he is back to serial nominations and trying to mar work. If that user were barred from FAC, FAR, and FARC, much less time would be wasted by a personal grudge. Geogre (talk) 14:48, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Sandstein

You're pissed with Sandstein, obviously, and while I disagree that you have any need to repeat yourself at length, you obviously feel the need to. Rather than get into a pointless argument about you needing to let go, I'm just going to ask you to restrict your complaining to your talk page, his talk page (to a point) and to discussions of blocks you genuinely disagree with with details on that disagreement. Please do not attack Sandstein on AE unless you have something specific against the block itself, and only if you will specify your disagreement. AE is a genuinely difficult job with genuine problems.--Tznkai (talk) 22:03, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
