Warmia or Ermland in Prussia was an exempt bishopric. It was not under Polish rule. It was during that time a seperate state, ruled by the bishop as secular ruler, with highest authority | |||
the emperor and the pope. And Copernicus lived most of his life in Ermland and died in Ermland. | |||

Warmia or Ermland in Prussia was an exempt bishopric. It was not under Polish rule. It was during that time a seperate state, ruled by the bishop as secular ruler, with highest authority
the emperor and the pope. And Copernicus lived most of his life in Ermland and died in Ermland.
