List of living Band of Brothers veterans

Tennis article at PR
Hi mate, I belatedly saw your call for collaboration on tennis articles and have decided to try and help. I have nominated List of ATP number 1 ranked players for Peer review having made some. Feel free to make comments and keep adding references and information to the list. Hopefully we will get the first tennis FL.
I have also been actively working on the creation of templates for the ATP and WTA Tour seasons (and further back). If you get a chance, could you look at the templates in Category:Men's tennis tour tournaments by season navbox templates and Category:WTA Tour tournaments by season templates for the accuracy of links and general arrangement of the templates. Please let me know about both things on my talkpage. Cheers. 03md 13:38, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Comments on the PR are there now. As for the templates, right now I'm outa time, hopefully someone will validate them for you! The Rambling Man (talk) 17:52, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Could you please add some more information to the lead of the article. Cheers. I am currently in the process of addressing your other points. 03md 18:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- My recommendation would be to submit articles such as the list of WTA number 1s and grand slam winners for peer review in their current state. We can then address issues based upon the feedback. Do you want me to do that? 03md 18:11, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Jesus College, Oxford
Thanks for your message. A FA-version of the main article would be quite an achievement, as there's an awful lot of work to do. At present, in the "history" section, nothing happened at the college between 1685 and 1918. The college grace takes up a disproportionate amount of the article. Other sections lack references. I'm half-tempted to write History of Jesus College, Oxford and / or Buildings of Jesus College, Oxford as a stepping stone, but I'm only good on lists really... A "list of things to do" on the main article, if you got the time, would be useful. Perhaps List of members of Peterhouse, Cambridge needs the work more, however! Regards, Bencherlite 10:05, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- OOOH, look, one of those redlinks has turned blue... Bencherlite 18:26, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've had fun writing it - well, it's either that or I do some real work.... I've put it in the long queue at GAN to give me time to add more snippets from the college magazines e.g. on the fellows' garden (which is more of a "fellows' narrow strip of patio with a couple of pot plants" these days) and on the fellows' library; as and when I'm at PR/FAC I'll be back in touch, you bet! Bencherlite 14:37, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'd already approached someone who I had spotted reviewing an architectural GAN, and it's at the bottom of his "to-do" list, which suits me fine - gives me enough time to polish it. Thanks for the offer, though. When time and life permit, I ought to head back to FLC and see what I can review. Bencherlite 15:03, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Sardines
Just curious, what's the origin of your longstanding habit of referring to a short wikibreak as "seeking out sardines"? Oldelpaso (talk) 16:25, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Never realised the fish were named after the island. So long as its nothing to do with objectionable Frenchmen ;) Can't stand the oily blighters myself, they always remind me of a holiday in the Algarve where the hotel served them for dinner every day. Sardines that is, not Frenchmen. Looking forward to the walrus-moustached one appearing on FAC. Oldelpaso (talk) 16:51, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
FLC
Hello, as you know, Matthewedwards is away for the next little while. There are some closeable FLCs nominated by me (List of members of the International Ice Hockey Federation and The Simpsons (season 14)) and I was originally going to wait for Matty to return, but I would rather not have the backlog clogged up by otherwise closeable FLCs. As you are a beloved former director, would you mind taking a look at them and seeing if there is consensus to close? You don't have to do it now, just as long as it's before 23:59 GMT. Thanks, Scorpion 14:21, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh no, I meant it. The guy I replaced you with isn't fit to remove vandalism from my user page (Okay, that last part was sarcasm..... Or was it?) -- Scorpion 14:30, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- You forgot to remove the delisted FLs from WP:FL. Dabomb87 (talk) 15:17, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Bugger. Always forget something. That's what doing this at work does for you. The Rambling Man (talk) 15:23, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed, hopefully. Thanks. The Rambling Man (talk) 15:28, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. Would you mind adding some thoughts to the Misplaced Pages:Featured list candidates/Closure log? It actually seems to be working pretty well (as far as I can tell, most of the regulars read it), so you may want to consider trying one for FLRCs. -- Scorpion 16:52, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Turner Prize list
Yes, I'd be very happy to carry on. FL is certainly achievable with a bit of work on the detail. I'm afraid you inherited some of the flaws of the Turner Prize article, where some of the same points need correcting. If you want to copy over any of my text to the article talk page, please do so. Some of it no longer applies. Ty 16:30, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, RL is demanding at the moment. I'll check it out as soon as I can. There are some points on the talk page unanswered, or maybe to be marked as done? Ty 01:33, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Research Triangle redirect
I would like you to reconsider deleting the Research Triangle redirect. The current page at The Research Triangle clearly violates Misplaced Pages's naming convention by including "The" in the name as you can see at the development area's official website . The page has been moved several times, which may be why you decided against letting it be moved again. What seem to have happened is the page was originally located at "Research Triangle" and was later moved to "The Triangle", a common shorthand name for the area. The page was again moved to "The Triangle (North Carolina)" because a disambig was later needed. It was then moved to the official name of the area with an unnecessary article and disambig "The Research Triangle (North Carolina)". As a disambig was no longer needed, I had it moved to "The Research Triangle". It later struck me that "The" was also not needed and in fact violated the naming convention. The proper place for this article is "Research Triangle". I know all that could have been hard to follow. If you have any questions please let me know. Rreagan007 (talk) 00:36, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Wark / Liverpool
Not really I'm afraid. I picked up the bit about hat-tricks from Lfchistory, a fairly comprehensive stats site. The resident Liverpool editors would be User:ArtVandelay13 or User:NapHit. User:Sillyfolkboy might be a Liverpool fan too, I can't remember. Oldelpaso (talk) 13:29, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Looks like a pretty solid idea and adds a nice layer of transparency to the process. My apologies for not being active at FLRC for the past few weeks; I've been very busy. Cheers, — sephiroth bcr 01:58, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
List of state highways in Marquette County, Michigan
I'm not happy with that close. I thought we were waiting for Imzadi1979 to receive the library book so we could determine exactly how many county highways there are. If there were a lot I would have happily voted keep. If there were sufficiently few, I (and maybe others) would have voted delist, saying that the article should be remodelled to include a section on them like List of state highways in Hamilton County, New York, List of highways in Warren County, New York or List of highways in Essex County, New York. But now we got no answer, which is the one thing I didn't expect, and as a result I feel that we did not in fact determine whether the list met 3b - rst20xx (talk) 09:52, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- A quick response as I am very busy. I understand you may not be happy but with a consensus of seven editor advocating it to be kept listed, and not one single editor outside the nominator advocating its demotion, it seems reasonable enough to close it with a clear consensus to keep, particularly if no useful evidence is provided to the contrary. However, there is nothing stopping you renominating the list for demotion. The Rambling Man (talk) 10:36, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm I might do that. I think a lot of the keeps were kneejerk reactions to the undeniably bad circumstances under which the list was nominated (after all, the number of routes involved is still unknown). As I said I was holding off on giving my opinion until we knew what we were dealing with - rst20xx (talk) 00:41, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
There are 1,059 roads under the jurisdiction of the Marquette County Road Commission. I can provide scans of the index from the atlas that arrived at my library today if desired. This should resolve that issue from the FLRC. Imzadi1979 (talk) 20:22, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, as far as I'm concerned this resolves it - rst20xx (talk) 11:11, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
A promotion?
Hello, as of late, I've been pondering my future with FLC. I admit that I am a little, for lack of a better word, burned out on FLC but I would like to stay on as director. However, I will be gone at least 5 (non-consecutive) weeks in the Summer, then in the Fall I'll have considerably less time to edit. Matthewedwards has also been having computer problems, so we decided it would be best to appoint a delegate who would be able to help us out (we're calling it delegate because then people can't say we have too many directors, but it would basically be a director). Would you be interested in becoming a FL delegate? You can still remain FLR delegate if you wish (and that way we won't need to appoint yet another new one). I would stay on as a director (because I will still be here several weeks in the summer) but this way, there will be a user to help Matthewedwards in the Summer, and to take over for me, should I become too swamped with school in the fall. -- Scorpion 21:45, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

FLC Reviews
Good Morning (at least here in Wash DC it is). I wanted to let you know that I completed most of the items you requested for the FLC's of Jewish Medal of Honor recipients, African American Medal of Honor recipients and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps but I also left some comments where I need more info. Thanks for taking the time to review them and I should have another batch of lists ready in a few days. --Kumioko (talk) 14:26, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
List of Presidents of the United States
I apologize for the odd way I submitted this List so don't beat me up too bad. I usually don't submit lists that I have edited so few times but this is an important one that I think deserves to be back on the FL status and I think it looks good other than some cosmetic changes I would like to make. I also usuallly don't do this either but I left some comments related to a couple of things I would like to do to restructure the look of this list. If in your wisdom you think the shading and references are ok (personally I think they are a bit much but I have seen this done on other lists as well so I let it go), thats ok with me too. --Kumioko (talk) 20:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Please keep an eye on this chap. I was tempted to spell {{indef}} on his userpage, instead of "obviously", but while I think it may be inevitable, it would be more than a little hasty right now. Cheers, --Dweller (talk) 15:55, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
President list
I wanted to let you know that I withdrew the presidents list. It is taking me more time to change the table structure than I originally thought it would. With that said I think it is coming along nicely. I do have a couple questions though. I am thinking about dropping the VP column and adding a column for State of birth and possibly association so we can eliminate another list. Do you have any thoughts on that. I know that have the VP's on there is good but I think that its a nice to have and we can add a presidents column to the VP list to do the match up if its not there already. Here is a link to the page I am working on if you want to put any comments on the talk page I would appreciate it. President list --Kumioko (talk) 16:40, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Alright. Don't forget to update the tally when withdrawing FLs. Also, while I'm here, if you'd like to add any comments to a peer review for BBC Sports Personality of the Year it would be much appreciated. - Yeah, forgot as usual. Too many pages to update for such a simple process. I would have thought we could get a bot to the counts for us but there you go. As for PR, sure thing, I'll do it when I get a moment. The Rambling Man (talk) 11:46, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

I just left a preliminary note about Freedom of Panorama on the Pritzker Prize FLC because I thought you might need some time to get an experienced imager on the case. I'll come back and fully review the rest of the list at a later date. Oh and I think I've done Dabomb's issues above if you have the time to take a look. Re:FLC closures
I will be going away for a week next Tuesday, but you can do closures today if you wish. I will also be gone for a 4 week period in late July-August (I forget exactly when) and one week near the end of August (as well as several random weekends). As for FLR, I was going to slow down on the nominations because I'm going away and will be unable to respond to anyone. -- Scorpion 16:16, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
