TTT = Dead Evans

If they lose 1 minute to Katusha, they'll lose 3 to Astana, SaxoBank and Columbia YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 14:28, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh he's screwed generally. How did that corner end up being called "Australia corner" anyways? And my bet is Armstrong in yellow; I have 20 on it at 2.40, so he bloody better be! Daniel (talk) 14:49, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Looking good... Daniel (talk) 15:11, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
...countback...wtf... Daniel (talk) 16:26, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Well Evans will never win. I don't think he will ever convince any decent riders to submit to him. They probably don't think he's good so they would either support an Armstrong/Contador or do it for themselves. Like last year when Popo appeared to not be trying, unlike when he was with USPS/DISC/AST. If he moves to a strong team the others will probably just put the foot down and seize command. YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 04:55, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

What a little whiner he is. Of course the others qould stop working as the break would be pulled back straightaway YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 03:35, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
As I said on fbchat to a cycling friend at the time, this had strong parallels with the Filippo Simeoni thing, at least in the sense that the breakaway were also discouraging someone from being there because their presence only encouraged the leaders to chase them down. Becoming a candidate for Board Elections?

Hello Daniel,

I see that you have been monitoring the board candidate page, and thought that you may be the best moderator to contact about consideration for candidacy. How may I go about submitting myself for consideration?

Thank you very much for any help you may provide me.

Cageymickmanus (talk) 02:41, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Candidacies can be submitted at m:Board elections/2009/Candidates/en, but unfortunately you will not be able to run in this election, as you do not meet the candidate requirements listed at m:Board elections/2009/en#Prerequisites to candidacy. Regards, Daniel (talk) 03:26, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Question about board election Questions

Hi, For the question/answer period, what is the expectation for candidates regarding turnaround times? Second question: Are questions directed at specific candidates prohibited? Thanks! Adam K.--CastAStone/ 15:30, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

There is only the expectations that are placed on the candidates by the voters. With regards to specific questions, you can ask them at their talk pages, etc., but only questions for all candidates will be able to be posted at m:Board elections/2009/Questions. Daniel (talk) 03:46, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, that's what I wanted to know!--CastAStone/ 04:10, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Could you give me some background...

... on this block: User talk:Momosgarage. He's requesting an unblock. I'd like to decline it, but I do not know which other account he is supposed to be a sockpuppet of. Could you provide the connection so I can intelligently respond to his request? Thanks! --Jayron32.talk.contribs 04:01, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Jonpentium4 is also him/her. Daniel (talk) 04:30, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Knowing that does not help me resolve the problem. You appear to have blocked both accounts for being socks of each other. If I knew the reason for the initial block, it would be helpful in responding intelligently to his request. Thanks a bunch! --Jayron32.talk.say no to drama 20:08, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
BLP violations across both accounts, introducing inappropriate content about a non-notable person with both accounts, and using account II to revert back in the content that account I added, after account I was reverted. Daniel (talk) 09:10, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Photo remover

We could use some help with an anonymous editor who has been repeatedly deleting valid, relevant photos from Potts Point and always reverting, and is threatening to do a hatchet job on the Sydney suburb articles. Some of us have tried to reason with him but he is very unresponsive. Seems to think photos have no place no matter how relevant or how supported by the text they are. Seems to be one person with two IPs:

User:206.197.59.9, User:220.245.248.12.

Help!

Sardaka (talk) 10:49, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I have been having problems with over use of house images in the Potts point article. I have only removed two images that seem to be of no value. There are plenty of other images in the article so I can't see why this user would be upset over 2 images being removed. In some cases in some of the Sydney suburban articles the only text that supports these images is the address for the house in a list of addresses. Before I do anything drastic I will seek advise from the Australian Misplaced Pages Notice Board where if an agreement is made the removal of some of these images may be more permanent. Also there is nothing wrong with using 2 ip's especially when it is physically impossible to edit from the same computer 220.245.248.12 (talk) 21:31, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
To be quite honest, although I disagree with the edit warring, I really see no point in adding in random images of non-notable houses in the area. —Dark 10:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Note that I am only referring to the Tusculum house in the photo gallery. Using a photo to illustrate the architectural designs etc. of the article is relevant, however I really do think the image of your own house is taking it quite overboard... —Dark 10:46, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Not sure what you mean about the image of my own house. I don't own a house and certainly haven't put any images of it in any articles.

GLAM

Weather isn't about a museum?? Or are we allowed to do anything? The ACHOF is a Museum exhibit, so do the players count as "exhibits"? YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 03:37, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

I was thinking it was just any Australian topic? Daniel (talk) 03:41, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Medcombot

Is the bot fully functioning? You declined the 2009 Honduran coup d'état RfM on 8 July, but it still hasn't been delisted. :-( AGK 15:08, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

I reckon the accent on the 'e' is screwing it up :| Daniel (talk) 15:12, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, that's a possibility. Shall I rename the page to a title without special characters? You could then re-decline the case. AGK 15:22, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to Ryan for moving it. Daniel (talk) 09:10, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Honduras Mediation

The mediation was rejected but they still went on and changed the name even though the mediation clearly showed that some of us were against it. why did this happen? isn't this against wikipedias rules?EdwinCasadoBaez (talk) 19:16, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

The changes of page titles should be done with consensus from the talk page. Just because mediation was rejected doesn't mean they can't move the page, if they have consensus; however, the fact that it was rejected doesn't automatically make it open-slather for page moves. I suggest you try and seek a discussion at WP:RM. Daniel (talk) 09:10, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Australia

Some joker is trying to say Aus is a world soccer power... with the quality and depth in Australia, half the team doesn't even play in a top-flight proper league and A-League is worse than 2-3rd flight in ENG/ITA/ESP... Danny Allsopp couldn't even get regular gametime in 2nd div before he came back to Aus and was one of the most prolific strikers lol YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 03:05, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

lol. Will keep an eye out. Just let me know if you need any UltimateG sockblocks in the future :) Daniel (talk) 09:10, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Daniel. Did you notice the above debate about photos? Your views would be appreciated. More can be found on Dark's page.

It's so like Daniel to coerce me into taking up this issue, while he sits back, watches the cricket, and drinks martinis with the monkey :p —Dark 03:08, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
