Queens based rap group G-Unit (Gorilla Unit) is comprised of multi-platnium rappers ], ], ] & ]. Arguably one of the most successful groups in hip hop today gained popularity on the streets of New York with mixtapes and their own DJ Whoo Kidd. When 50 Cent gained solo success in hus multi-platnium selling album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" featuring G-Unit the group rose to fame. Then 50 Cent through his labels Shady Records and Aftermath Entertainment (both divisions of Interscope Records) was granted his own label called ]. In the summer of 2004 Lloyd Banks and Young Buck released their solo debut albums "The Hunger For More" and "Straight Outta Cashville" both going platnium. Shortly after Jimmy Iovine who is the President of Interscope Records proposed a joint venture which Aftermath Entertainment west coast rapper ] would be signed to both labels so 50 Cent and Dr. Dre would work on his album. Then 50 Cent signed the 1st lady of G-Unit Records ]. Shortly after The Game released his platnium debut album "The Documentary", him and 50 Cent began feuding ina result of 50 Cent dropping The Game.
