Constantine "Gus" Yatron (October 16, 1927 - March 13, 2003) was an American politician who was a member of the United States House of Representatives. As a member of the Democratic Party, he represented the 6th congressional district of Pennsylvania for twelve terms, from 1969 until his retirement in 1992.

Early Life & Education

Gus Yatron was born in Reading, PA, to George H. and Theano Lazo Yatron, of Greek descent.. He graduated from Kutztown State Teachers College in Kutztown, PA in 1950.

Political Career

Yatron started his career in public service as a member of the Reading School Board 1955–1961. In 1956, Yatron was elected as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives until 1960. He then ran, and was elected as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1960 to 1968. In 1969, Yatron was elected as a Democrat to the 91st Congress, representing the 6th congressional district of Pennsylvania served until 1993. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1992.
