Astronium fraxinifolium (syn. Astronium balansae Engl.; Goncalo alves, Portuguese common names: Aroeirão, Aderno, Guaritá, Gibatão, Gonçalo-alves) is a timber tree, which is native to Atlantic Forest vegetation in Brazil. Its Spanish name is Gateado. This plant is cited in Flora Brasiliensis by Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius.
