| I became an admin so I could close AfD requests. That was really all. And I thought I'd do some vandal patrol. Well now here we are 5 months later and I'm involved in 4 disputes all at once. We have Gibraltarian and the Gibraltar articles. We have zen master and Ben Gatti and the nuclear articles. We have Canaen and that whole saga on Veganism. We have CyclePat and the motorized bicycle article. And I've been involved in the BigDaddy777 and Rex disputes on top of all of that and the Semi protection policy. And frankly, I'm not having fun. At all. Katefan and others have told me...hey...just go back to being an editor. But frankly, I've gotten too involved in these messes. | I became an admin so I could close AfD requests. My Wikibreak
I am going on Wikibreak because I'm nearing burn out. December 29th is the 1st anniversery of my first edit. I thought this would be a good time to take a step back and determine what I want to do here. I've gotten very heavy into admin stuff the last 2 months especially and honestly, it's getting to me a bit. This past week, I was called a racist, a censor and a POV pusher when I am none of those things. I have a thick skin, but those 3 things are things that offend me to the core. The thing is. No one out there really knows me. I really am a flaming liberal. I am really am here just to uphold Misplaced Pages policies. Admins are police officers. Nothing more. I am not part of any cabal or any group trying to make articles more POV. I am just here to keep people to policies.

And I'm starting to question the logic of getting involved in these disputes that I have 0 stake in. I have no real interest in any of the articles I just mentioned. None.
So. I need to find a balance. I need to sit down and figure out what I want to do. I might resign my adminship. I might just stop taking new disputes. I don't know. But I need to do something. I'm a very passionate man. I put my heart into everything (including this post). And I just wonder if maybe that doesn't suit me well here. I dunno. So. I'll be back in a week and I'll see what I will do then. A change needs to occur one way or the other. See you all after January 1st. If you want to leave a comment about this on my talk page, go ahead. I'm going to archive what I have there before I take my break.
