Halo Waypoint is a section of Xbox Live on Xbox 360 that focuses on Halo video game series. It was developed by 343 Industries and was first released to the public on November 5, 2009.
Halo Waypoint allows players to track their Achievement progress in Halo 3, Halo Wars and Halo 3: ODST. The progress is tracked through "milestones" and "awards"; unlocking groups of related achievements in these games will unlock awards. New Xbox 360 Avatar Accessories can be unlocked through Halo Waypoint by unlocking achievements in the games.
Halo Waypoint also has videos, images and text content from game developers and fans. Weekly updates include Spotlight (interviews), Beyond the Games (merchandise), Community Day (videos and screenshots from Halo players), Machinima (Various machinima creations, currently limited-time high quality streams of Red vs. Blue), Strategy (gameplay information), Halo Legends (Halo anime previews and limited-time streams of full episodes) and Fiction (information on the Halo setting).
