Gale is an instant messaging system developed by Dan Egnor when he was at Caltech. It combines functions of programs like Internet Relay Chat, AOL Instant Messenger, Usenet, and Internet-based forums. It also has support for digital signing and encryption.
Gale is similar to MIT's Zephyr system.
