I am currently only moderately active on Misplaced Pages. I've been uploading a lot of my own photos (and occasionally some other images) to the Commons, writing the occasional article, participating in other articles mainly on a "hit-and-run" basis, and maybe doing the occasional translation, but for the foreseeable future, that is my level of participation. I am not being one of the "mainstays", as I was from November 2003 to April 2007. - Jmabel | Talk 04:18, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Everett History

I saw your recent comment on the Everett talk page. My interest is in early history of Everett, but later history is what the page is mostly lacking. I just added an article on the Rucker Brothers. I mention this primarily because it might like to have a photo of the Rucker mansion and/or monument, and since I see you're a photographer, I thought you might want to bring your camera along next time you happen to venture north to Everett. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iglew (talkcontribs) 06:12, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

As I mentioned in the talk page for the Rucker Brothers, I was thinking specifically of the Rucker mansion and perhaps the Rucker monument at Evergreen Cemetery. Neither is really necessary, but they might be nice. Perhaps there are already photos available. I don't know where to look nor how to determine copyright status. I'm not really a picture person; I generally leave that for someone else to do. Iglew (talk) 04:34, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Ondine

Important! - Round up what few ballet enthusiasts you know on Misplaced Pages and get them to vote on the proposed merging of the Ondine articles that would see the article about Frederick Ashton's production of the actual ballet, being merged into one about the music.

Orphaned non-free image (File:Black Angels logo.png)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Black Angels logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 17:58, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

No longer orphaned. No idea why it was dropped from article. - Jmabel | Talk 19:47, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Wait. You removed it from the article where it was used, and then complained it was orphaned, without saying where you had just removed it? That seems pretty silly, and maybe even a bit devious. - Jmabel | Talk 19:49, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Castile-La mancha

On the gules or red, I understand - the "quarter" bits are more complicated though (specifically). Although sticking to the Spanish translation has the benefit of being backed up, "quarter" is not proper English here. I'm aware "cuartel" translates as "quarter" but here it gets in the way of readability. Many readers would be confused, as was I. I suggest "half", which translates closely, but is more easily understood. That's just one thing though - I didn't realise you were sticking to the exact translation as closely as you were. (For the record, I was answering the call at WT:HV.) Keep up the good work: I was shocked at the improvements that can still be made, considering it's a primary level region of a "Western" country! - Jarry1250  18:03, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Castile La Mancha

Wow, thanks man!! =))) with that article you are being an excellent work!.. i really appreciate that from you (i bet you like me other many ppl).. i just want you say that and keep on work bro ;) --Venerock (talk) 03:21, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

hi my friend. Can you improve too the article of the autonomous community of Castile and León??, if do you want and you can, of course.. cause that Castile and León really is the most important region for the castilians
very thanks and saludos! --Venerock (talk) 18:46, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Sure, I can try to get to that. The reason I did Castilla-La Mancha was that someone had made a mess of it with bad translation, and I figured that if I was going to revert the edit, I ought to really fix the article. - Jmabel | Talk 09:09, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

wow man really thank you =) . tell me when youll go to venezuela jejej for give you an awesome tour :)). Saludos hermano --Venerock (talk) 05:22, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm afraid that at the moment the only thing that would get me to Venezuela is a job opportunity there. - Jmabel | Talk 05:47, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

sorry if i dont get cause my bad english, bro, but yeah yea is some dangerous here but not like do ppl thinks.. but is good for travel and fun, overall for who likes wild animals and waterfalls, amazonas stuff
venezuela is having a bad momment but still good sites--Venerock (talk) 00:42, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

No, no es lo que quería decir. Yo soy desempleado, y no tengo dinero para un viaje. La única razón probable para viajar en el futuro próximo sería para trabajar. - Jmabel | Talk 05:40, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Dont worry man, we have in middle of a world-crisis, in first world countries the crisis attack the jobs, in countries more poor attack in worst ways; in my case for example, in venezuela, affect the water, here the water come just 2 hours each 48 hours everytime!, we haven´t water! when come we fastly full "tobos" (sp.) of water, the food normally fault or is very expensive; so well is true, in some zones of caracas is very dangerous, you just see bad to somebody and just for that, they can shoot you! between other bad things.. you are very lucky, bro, for you live there, and i assure you that you will geta job, get a job is not easy there, but neither not can be too hard, but you have to search it --Venerock (talk) 23:36, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Castile and León

"don't take explicit control of size of thumbnail" .. yeah i agree, but dont you think very tiny that images?, that are almost difficult to see it.. atleast it could put in 190px, i mean some images of the history section. cheers --Venerock (talk) 04:37, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

(The Roman Aqueduct of Segovia; Walls of Ávila; Burgos Cathedral; Segovia Cathedral) ------> 190px,
i think is better. try and compare it --Venerock (talk) 04:56, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

As a logged-in user, you can pick your size for thumbnails (go to Special:Preferences and click the "Appearances" tab). If explicit numbers are given in the article, it overrides these user preferences. So someone who has chosen (as I have) 250px gets smaller images than they normally want.
I don't necessarily agree with Misplaced Pages's choice of default (which is pretty small), but the point is that individual articles shouldn't adopt a different style. If you want Misplaced Pages's default to change, that should be discussed on the village pump, not overridden on one particular article you happen to care about. The only times the article should take charge of the size of an image are (1) when the image is not legible at a small size, such as some graphs or maps or conversely, (2) when the original of the image is tiny, and you don't want to blow it up beyond its actual size. - Jmabel | Talk 06:43, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

yes, but in almost all articles around wikipedia, miss that rule.. the wikipedians in so general fix the images at the article, include in the countries's articles, just check! ... in this article we can make a exception like oters make wit anothers, cause the 'episcopal palace image' and 'verracos image' contrasting such bad with that images; apartin this 4 images it see so tiny, in fact the pixel are mixing, making so bad the picture.. (i write like tis cause my difficult to write english). cheeers --Venerock (talk) 06:59, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

see articles such importants like Portugal, Lisbon, Brugges, any article!.. very few articles around wikipedia make that you are saying--Venerock (talk) 07:04, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Very few articles in Misplaced Pages come near the "good article" standards on most fronts. They are undercited, poorly written, and nonstandard in lots of other ways. Look at the "good articles" and "featured articles" for examples of how to do it right, not by the importance of the topic. (Y si es dificil escribir en inglés, estaría bastante facil escribirme aquí en español, yo lo entendría bastante bién.) - Jmabel | Talk 07:09, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

i searching around in all cities's articles and always i am seeing an exception with that rule. this is the first city/region article in at least spain's articles have that rule?. sorry man, but i expand just to 190px that 4 images, if you dont mind. i hope that you understand me and dont starting a war edition cuz just such thing. Saludos --Venerock (talk) 07:19, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

- Jmabel | Talk 07:53, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

hola!, are you think that is better the iberian wolf's image or not? i undo my edit or not?.. two opinions is better than one
btw, do you want listen good music in spanish? i said cuz i think you like some of spanish culture and i know much about good music made in spain and spanish music in general --Venerock (talk) 01:01, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Photo: No strong opinion. I kind of liked having a bird, since so much of the text (which I just added) is about birds. I think we could adjust the pictures and get the bird back in, though. I'll admit that living in the Pacific Northwest, the brown bear and the wolves are a bit ho-hum (run of the mill): around here, they are things we have to be wary of when hiking.
Music: I don't listen to a ton of Spanish music. Aside from traditional stuff (flamenco, etc.) there are a few groups I do like: I was a definite fan of the quasi-rockabilly Los Rebeldes from Madrid, and have a weird affection for Alaska y los Pegamoides. But, really, I find most Spanish music that isn't traditionally based to be a pale imitation of British and American styles. Now Spanish-language music is another matter, including a lot of great music from Cuba & the Caribbean (I grew up in New York, so this was part of my world), some Mexican stuff (my housemate, who lived for years in Mexico, gives me shit for liking corridos, but we can agree on Café Tacuba, Kinky, etc.), and a lot of Mexican-American stuff (on the more traditional side, Flaco Jiménez, on the less traditional, the L.A. hip-hop group Akwid's Spanish-language material is some of my favorite hip-hop, though their English-language stuff is nowhere near as good). And, weirdly, because of my family's leftist politics, I grew up learning Spanish Republican songs from the Spanish Civil War. One of the sentences I could speak in Spanish was "Sueño y una ametralladora, y Franco se va paseo." Not exactly tourist vocabulary, especially at the time. - Jmabel | Talk 01:20, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

oh yeah, you are some tasty for music, at least dont like the mexican music, i agree with that, is too mexican lol,.. i like spaniard music too (overall flamenco, spaniard hiphop((the best in spanish)), and spaniard rock); of latinoamerica merengue (is very good to dance), the folklore music of my country (of course cause i grow here), reggaetón, very few of salsa, techno-cumbia; and of english music, the rock here is very famous, punk, but about english-hip hop in latinoamerica the ppl hate it, don like it, idk why, the style sure maybe could like but the songs not, for that you always will see in latinoamerica (about in english language) rock's concerts of from usa or england, but almost never hip-hop...... the eurotechno too we like it

i will give you the music that i listen now, that i think is good music, según yo buena música, ahí te va =D :

Agreeing that your correction of my edit at the Paris Commune was a good idea. Don't know what brought that thought on. Probably tired. Best. Dr. Dan (talk) 15:15, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi my friend

hi jmabel, i wish to know if you could expand Andalusia too, if you want, cause that is one of most famous, importants and beautiful communities in spain, with much folklore (flamenco, monuments, sherry, history, sun and the cradle of the hot "northern latino culture" in the americas). cause i have very few knowledge about languages and dont cant help much althought i want, but i could help about images :P, and i know some stuff about andalusia.. do you want my friend?--Venerock (talk) 20:00, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

I'll try to get to it some time, though probably not in the next day or two. It's amazing that en-wiki hasn't had extensive articles on these top-level geographic entities of a major Western European country. (It's also amazing that the Spanish language articles are so poorly cited and that the statistics in each of them are an ill-maintained olla podrida.) - Jmabel | Talk 00:17, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

yeah men, its sad, is cuz im tring to help too althought under my limits (languages), .... i think that that problem is caused for it self, the spanish language and english are between the most differents languages, and this make often rare a bilingual spanish-english, and overall is difficult for the spanish speakers,.. this is maybe cuz the spanish is a very example of romance language, and the english of germanic language.. while any spanish speaker, whithout have nothing knowledge about the portuguese language, easily can translate an article, write and read without any problem (with a portuguese and vice-versa)... for that self, you see the spanish articles so good in the portuguese wikipedia, and the portugueses in spanish wikipedia, is cuz that,.. well, i guess.. you get me, "pana"?(is buddy in venezuelan slang :P) --Venerock (talk) 00:48, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes, translating among any of the Iberian Romance languages is usually a matter of changing spelling and the occasional root word. English, while technically Germanic, is really not very close to any of the other major Germanic languages. It's no easier for an English-speaker to learn German than to learn Spanish. We expect a serious struggle to learn any foreign language, though of course once I learned Spanish, a certain competence in other Romance languages was not much harder than for a native Spanish-speaker.
Here in the US, English-Spanish bilingualism is actually pretty common, to the point that if someone is described as "bilingual" and no further description is given, English and Spanish are the two languages presumed. About 10% of my high school back east were native Spanish-speaker (mostly Cubans and Puerto Ricans). Even here in Seattle - which is 3,000+ kilometers from Mexico - it's a running joke that most restaurant kitchens operate mainly in Spanish (and a bit of Tagalog), even in (for example) Greek or Italian restaurants. Every good waiter or waitress I know has learned at least a smattering of Spanish to talk better to the kitchen staff. But it certainly goes beyond little things like that: are you familiar with El Vez or Guillermo Gómez-Peña? Both of them are performers who pretty much presume a bilingual audience, and if you only have one of the two languages (either one), you are going to miss a lot (especially with Gómez-Peña; El Vez tends to size up the audience and switch more to one language or the other depending who is around). - Jmabel | Talk 20:58, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi jmabel, i think is better "Etymology" than A place named Andalucía, which as appears in other spanish articles; and i think the sections "Monuments" and "Native or famous people from Andalusia", are not necessary and are wrong (David Bisbal? f.e. :S, is like a backstreet boys here), was added for some wikipedians just for fully space.. and if you want, ill go to delete the original images of the article for easy you the work, and after that is more expanded add some images,. do you think? saludos--Venerock (talk) 17:17, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

I didn't write A place named Andalucía. I wrote The place name Andalucía. "Place name" is the colloquial English for topónimo; the English word "toponym" exists but is very erudite. We could also just say The name Andalucía or The word Andalucía. I don't want to say Etymology because that will drag us into the whole fight over the controversial etymology of Al-Andalus.
I don't care whether the old sections that are unimportant stay or go, but I won't be the one to delete them. - Jmabel | Talk 18:39, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

ok men i dont knew it, just i trying to help you. saludos--Venerock (talk) 21:35, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi my friend, just pass to salute, and for that you tell me in what i can help with the Andalusia article? saludos--Venerock (talk) 21:32, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

sure, that citations are references? so ill could search external links??--Venerock (talk) 00:07, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

yes my friend. this link is from the official web of Andalusia in english (weather media for month, weather medias of the seas and weather media at sun), in spanish
different climates in andalusia - in the official junta of andalusia (in spanish)
in other page - Highest temperatures and night time temperatures (in english)
including a bit of information about Rainfall Average in Andalusia (in english)
highest altitudes of Andalucía are found in the Sierra Nevada, which as found citations that affirm as there various of the highest elevations in the Iberian Peninsula including information about Flora and Fauna --Venerock (talk) 01:22, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

a question bro, (before of still searching) , is this tipe of information that we need, the citations? .. i am helping you? :) --Venerock (talk) 02:29, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

It's the type of information we need, but we need it from reliable sources: probably either official government meteorological data or from a university. Please don't dump the links here on my user talk page: I am precisely not volunteering to go through all of this and find the relevant citations. Someone needs to do this in the article, both in es-wiki and en-wiki. If you want a good example of doing this well, take a look at Seattle#Climate. - Jmabel | Talk 05:44, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

ok sure bro, i will do it. but wait please that i have to go to my university, and when i comeback ill do that, just take a few hours,i assure you,. cause im studing (so happy) in one of the best universities in my country (like harvard in USA (im talking about fame, in here)), is the Central University of Venezuela, so of course i can´t lost any class, cuz is very hard and i´d waiting all my life studing in that =))) ... in fact im in my first classes, first is like "curso introductorio" and i will start as such my first annual, in january, but im inside....... im studing "International Studies", althought i really want'd "medicine" or "veterinary" but anyway , im ucevista! =P .. yeah, in a few hours i help with that, now in my country is at 14:00, and i starting the citations around at 20:00, im glad if you're fine in your life too bro, saludos --Venerock (talk) 18:42, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

one question men, do you have facebook? just for know and for add too--Venerock (talk) 18:42, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

No, I avoid Facebook. Misplaced Pages & the Commons are quite enough of a timesuck, but at least in the end I've accomplished something. - Jmabel | Talk 19:11, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

I happen to be Mr. DeLaCruz's nephew and I just wanted to let you know that if you were planning to work on the wiki page for him any more I would be happy to provide you with any information you might need. The problem is to have citable material. If you can direct me to things that have been published - newspaper articles, articles posted on organizational sites, etc. - that's great. Otherwise, the best thing you could do to help us expand this would be for you, yourself to write what you know and get it posted on some site that would be considered reliable (I imagine UIATF would be glad to host a good article on him, for example). I'm sure you understand why we can't just take unpublished family material and carry it straight into a Misplaced Pages article. For what it's worth, I ran into the same sort of issue writing about my own great aunt Lena Levine. I know a lot that I couldn't cite for, so didn't get to add.
Another thing that would be great for the article: do you by any chance have a photo of him? - Jmabel | Talk 05:44, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Andalusia

Just an FYI, I think you're getting an unfair shake over at DYK regarding Andalusia being featured. I voiced my displeasure over at Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#Andalusia. When quality, encyclopedic and very worthy articles are being rejected because of bean counting over references, that scares me. I think WP:V is on your side, as well as good old fashioned common sense, even if the WP:BUREAUCRACY is not. Agne/ 06:27, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your support. I've long since given up really fighting over these things. Sadly, the Misplaced Pages community seems to have decided in recent years that dull writing is not a problem, that focusing on antiquarian trivia rather than salient history is only a minor problem, but that failing to cite for uncontroversial matters makes an article unencylopedic. - Jmabel | Talk 06:47, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
I use to be a very active DYK regular and reviewer but decreased my activity when a small, vocal minority of the bean counting crowd took hold. I know feel a tad guilty over that since DYK continues to drift farther away. Seeing how you and your article was treated was just jaw dropping. I think this is a cause worth fighting for. DYK is an incredible project that has served Misplaced Pages so well for so long. As I noted on WT:DYK, Andalusia is the type of article that DYK would be downright giddy to feature not too long ago--back when what DYK cared about was featuring quality articles, not just articles that pass some (mostly "unwritten") bean counting test. I honestly wonder if you put a footnote <ref name="TBD">Reference to be filled in when/if material is ever challenged </ref> at the end of each paragraph, if anyone would have blinked an eye and just passed it because there was enough little blue numbers. DYK is becoming more and more newbie unfriendly and with the way you were treated, it seems to becoming more "encyclopedic" unfriendly too. Agne/ 06:56, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Translating interwiki

Thanks, that's great, I just wanted to convey my old thoughts (I was doing that too). Many other wikis have "featured articles", and translating them is quite straightforward (yes, time consuming). One issue is sourcing - we can't trust unreferenced information. Prose might get nicely polished, but the facts could be POVish or plain wrong. Unfortunately, many other wikis don't demand referencing, and I had to research that independently. Cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 09:07, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

DYK for Andalusia

Updated DYK query On December 15, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Andalusia, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

An Award from Baldy

The Spanish Barnstar of Excellence
Awarded to Jmabel with a veeeeeerrrrryyy great thanks for taking the time to write a proper encyclopedia article for Andalusia. Unfortunely most of the articles on Spain, Italy and France are diabolical, even those on major provinces and regions let alone municipalities, but this article is extremely well written and contains what is most important, referenced content. Keep up the great work and may you improve many more Spanish place articles!! Dr. Blofeld 23:19, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

I've been doing some stuff around the Tacoma area. But I don't know if you're there. If you're up by Seattle I can see which architects have projects up there. :) Is there anything you like to take photos of? ChildofMidnight (talk) 05:11, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! And you even picked my favorite building of his for the lead photo. - Jmabel | Talk 23:27, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
It probably needs a gallery. I saw there's another photo of that church (I think you took that one also?). Are there other shots of his other buildings? A better one of the chapel on Lewis and Clark College's campus would be good too. He did some interesting work. It's great to find a photo for something I'm working on. Writing and reading about architecture without images is pretty lame. Is the 1937 Barrett house he did still standing? That might be a good one... What are you up to this weekend? Ha ha. Take care. Reference to Oscar Levant on Hofmann

Pl send me the full text for comments on Josef Hofmann that you mention on the "Discussion" page of the Josef Hofmann wiki article. Thanks! 06:45, 24 December 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alextierno98 (talkcontribs)

Reference to Oscar Levant on Hofmann (contd.)

Scans of the photocopies would be nice ... I have no access to the book. How will you make those available to me? I am not comfortable releasing my email over Wiki. Could you pl post the scanned pages on a website from where I could download it? Thanks. 08:35, 24 December 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alextierno98 (talkcontribs)

You won't have to release your email on the wiki, but you will have to pass it to me. I'll drop you a note through the "Email this user" feature, which will give you my email, you'll write back, and then (once I find the book) I can send you these. - Jmabel | Talk 19:03, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Kenneth Callahan Maritime 01.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kenneth Callahan Maritime 01.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:39, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

I'd agree that under our current, narrower fair use policies, we can't use this. - Jmabel | Talk 17:57, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:Picardo Venus 05.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Picardo Venus 05.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:49, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

1833 territorial division of Spain

Hi Jmabel, I'm afraid that I haven't understood your problems with the article (far better that the one I wrote for the Spanish Misplaced Pages). If you feel more comfortable writing in English, please, do so and I'll try to help you. Although my English is far from perfect, I can manage to understand most of any text, so possibly a conversation in English will be much more productive. We can talk in this Misplaced Pages. Best regards --Ecemaml (talk) 21:34, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

OK, I understand now (well, in fact I understood most of your initial message, but I wanted to double-check it). First of all, thank you for taking the time to create these articles. It very much helpful to show the Spanish culture to everyone. On the other hand, I wrote the article in a time when references were not so important :-). However, I've managed to find the reference (which even supported the mention to the first government of María Cristina). I understand other of your concerns when talking about "una simple circular". There wasn't a circular being the source of the decree. It was just that, the royal decree you mention and reference. My understanding of the text is that is a fairy simple text, without any extensive report supporting the decree, and that's why the author talks about "una simple circular".
I've added the reference to the article. If you think you need further details, don't hesitate to contact me. On the other hand, Spain politics and contemporary history are my speciality. Unfortunately, I'm working here almost a SPA very much focused on Gibraltar. Anyway, please, don't hesitate to contact me if you think I can be helpful. Best regards --Ecemaml (talk) 23:09, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! - Jmabel | Talk 23:24, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome :-) --Ecemaml (talk) 23:37, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Jmabel, with regard to the Pastrana's page, I'm feeling equally unconfortable with it as you. However, I guess it's difficult to find a better source. I'll try to do it and come with better references. Again, thank you for your effort. --Ecemaml (talk) 23:21, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

I read the article 1833 territorial division of Spain, and found it highly interesting. However, what about Ceuta and Melilla. They are marked as grey dots on the map, but not mentioned in the text. --Soman (talk) 11:00, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Discussion continues on Soman's talk page. - Jmabel | Talk 19:44, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Happy New Year

As the heading says: all the best in the new year. Incidentally, I just happened to catch a glance of the History of Bucharest subcategorizing on commons the other day - much needed and meticulous, kudos! Dahn (talk) 21:51, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Valle de Villaverde

Hi Jmabel, as far as I understand, "corporación" in this context is "City Council". On the other hand, it seems that Valle de Villaverde (formerly named as Villaverde de Trucíos, that information is missing in the article) did ask for the integration in the autonomous community of the Basque Country (see here). However, what definitely needs a source is the statement about the PRC doing such a request. Now it's too late (0:45 AM) and I'm going to sleep, but tomorrow I can do some searches. Don't forget to do the searches using "Villaverde de Trucíos". Best regards --Ecemaml (talk) 23:47, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

It happens in 2005. It seems that the first attempts to annex Villaverde to Vizcaya happened earlier, under socialist administration (see here) --Ecemaml (talk) 23:57, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
