Omar S. Amanat is a businessman and entrepreneur who founded several financial technology companies including Tradescape, a brokerage and technology firm thatis reported to have processed 7% of NASDAQ's daily trading volume, and was named one of the "Top 100 Companies in the United States" by the Red Herring magazine . E*Trade entered into an agreement to acquire Tradescape for total consideration worth up to $280 million and Mr. Amanat became one of E*Trade's largest shareholders.
