Low resolution?

Yes

Purpose of use

Image is an iconic photograph of what has been described as the "most famous goal in Canadian hockey history" , and "the goal of the century" . Nearly four decades later, the Summit Series, and Paul Henderson's goal remain among the most memorable events in hockey history. The emotion of the moment cannot adequately be conveyed by prose alone.

Replaceable?

Due to age and the political climate of the Soviet Union at the time, free alternatives almost certainly do not exist
