Maria Pia of Bragança (March 13 1907 - 1995), the pseudonym named Hilda Toledano began claiming, in the 1930s, to be an illegitimate child of king Charles I of Portugal, by Amelia Laredo e Murca to have been recognized by her father. The claim that she was the King's child was made after the death of her half-brother, Manoel II, the last King of Portugal. She claimed she was legitimised and, following the death of Manuel II, assumed the position of head of the Royal House in the view of some Portuguese royalists. This is a unique claim:

her father H.R.H. Dom Charles I, in 14 March 1907, with the recognize letter of fatherhood, that is possible to find in documents of the Baptism Acts, registred in the archives (n°21, sheet q7 vt°) of the Archbishop’s Palace in Madrid Alcalà, confered upon his natural daughter Dona Maria Pia Saxe Coburgo Bragança all honours, prerogatives, privileges, obbligations and advantages that belong to the Infants of the Bragança House, with the power of succession of the Portugal’s Crown.

Her claims, as regards to the restitution of the private real property of the Royal House, were rejected by the Supreme Tribunal of Justice at Lisbon on 14 April 1983, since the Court in this sentence asserted that Dona Maria Pia, first of all should request her fatherhood recognize, at the contrary had been confermed Civil Status of Lisbon that reported the fatherhood of the King Dom Charles, how is also possible to see in the baptsimal certification with definitive sentence confermation of Ecclesiastic Court of Sacra Romana Rota.

She abdicated in 1987, passing her pretensions to "Rosario Poidimani" (called Rosario of Bragança) that he has blood relation with Dona Maria Pia and for her, he is the onlyone to be able to lead the fight against the Miguelist collateral line (that are perpetually excluded from the Crown Succession)

The current head of the Royal House of Portugal, Duke of Bragança, has been recognized by many legitimate related European Royal House (this is irrelevant because the Royal House of another State can't decide about the succession of the Crown in Portugal). The aspiration of Dom Duarte of Bragança Orleans contradicts with the historical and constitutional principles that at article 98 of the Monarchic Constitution excluded perpetually the Miguelist line (to which Duarte Pio of Bragança belongs). Portugal is in any case now a republic.
